Quantum Optics of Ultra-Cold Molecules [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Quantum optics has been a major driving force behind the rapid experimental developments that have led from the first laser cooling schemes to the Bose-Einstein condensation (BEC) of dilute atomic and molecular gases. Not only has it provided experimentalists with the necessary tools to create ultra-cold atomic systems, but it has also provided ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Asymptotic model for shape resonance control of diatomics by intense non-resonant light: universality in the single-channel approximation

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2015
Non-resonant light interacting with diatomics via the polarizability anisotropy couples different rotational states and may lead to strong hybridization of the motion.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Structural and energetic properties of molecular Coulomb crystals in a surface-electrode ion trap

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2015
Cold molecular ions are of great interest for applications in cold collision studies, chemistry, precision spectroscopy and quantum technologies. In this context, sympathetic cooling of molecular ions by the interaction with laser-cooled atomic ions is a

Some spectroscopic studies on cold isolated molecules [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Cold isolated molecules produced in seeded supersonic jets are ideal systems for obtaining information on the nature of potential energy surfaces of excited states.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Infrared-dressed entanglement of cold open-shell polar molecules for universal matchgate quantum computing

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2014
Implementing a scalable quantum information processor using polar molecules in optical lattices requires precise control over the long-range dipole–dipole interaction between molecules in selected lattice sites.

A Quantum Degenerate Mixture of $^{87}$Rb and $^{133}$Cs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This thesis reports the formation of a dual-species Bose-Einstein condensate of $^{87}$Rb and $^{133}$Cs in the same trapping potential. Quantum degenerate mixtures exhibit rich physics inaccessible to single species experiments and provide an ideal ...
