Sensitization of Gold Dust in 430 Grade Stainless Steel [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
\u27Gold dusting\u27 is a surface defect that is sometimes observed on cold-rolled AISI type 430 stainless steel. Gold dusting is characterized by a sparkling appearance, which results from small flakes of metal on the cold rolled surface, the flakes are

Ion‐Confinement‐Assisted Erasure Purifies Oxidized MXene for Reuse

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An erasure‐purification strategy removes surface‐derived TiO2 from oxidized Ti3C2Tx MXene by ion‐confinement‐induced interfacial conversion to soluble titanates, followed by brief acid washing. The scalable process enables approximately 70% material recovery, restores electrical conductivity, and recovers functional performance, including high ...

Mechanical properties and bonding mechanism on interfaces containing work-hardening surface layer of roll-bonded 6061 Al/Q235 steel composite plates

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
The film theory is widely accepted as a bonding mechanism of metallic laminate composites (MLCs). It states that the fresh metal contact after the rupture of the surface film is an important condition for the bonding of MLCs.

Cluster‐Mediated Solute Stabilization and Shear‐Bypass Synergistic Strengthening in High‐Alloyed Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that in high‐alloy systems, nanoclusters with high solute tolerance can effectively suppress compositional segregation. This mitigation leads to a concurrent 18.7% increase in strength and 41.5% improvement in ductility, which is attributed to a shear‐bypass synergistic strengthening mechanism. The findings provide a new pathway
