Roll Camber Design for Cold Rolling Mills

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1976
Abstract The advent of automated, high-speed tandem coldrolling mills for wide strip has reduced the available manpower for observing and controlling strip shape (or flatness) after each stand. Consequently there has been an increased emphasis on selecting ground roll cambers which minimise manual adjustments of coolant flowrate and roll bending ...

Heat treatment of steel rolls for cold rolling

Metal Science and Heat Treatment, 2011
A new production regime has been developed and approved for preliminary heat treatment of steel rolls. The microstructure of steel, from which rolls are manufactured, is studied by electron microscopy after each form of heat treatment. A dependence of steel mechanical properties on heat treatment regime is established.
