Experimental Study on Cold Storage Characteristics of Water-cooled Compressed CO2 Hydrate Cold Storage System

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2020
A water-cooled compressive CO2 hydrate cold storage system was designed to examine the hydrate cold storage characteristics with different initial charge pressure values (from 3.5 MPa to 4.0 MPa).

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Strong Lewis-acid coordinated PEO electrolyte achieves 4.8 V-class all-solid-state batteries over 580 Wh kg−1

open access: yesNature Communications
Polyethylene oxide (PEO) based electrolytes critically govern the security and energy density of solid-state batteries, but typically suffer from poor oxidation resistance at high voltages, which limits the energy density of batteries.

Numerical simulation of phase change cold storage plates with different packaging structures used in cold storage

open access: yesShipin yu jixie
Objective: To study the application of phase change energy storage in peak-shifting of cold storage electricity, and propose a more effective encapsulation structure for the cold storage plate.

Proximal Tubule p53 in Cold Storage/Transplantation-Associated Kidney Injury and Renal Graft Dysfunction

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine, 2021
Kidney injury associated with cold storage/transplantation is a primary factor for delayed graft function and poor outcome of renal transplants. p53 contributes to both ischemic and nephrotoxic kidney injury, but its involvement in kidney cold storage ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Storage of Heat, Cold and Electricity

open access: yesCHIMIA, 2015
A promising energy storage system is presented based on the combination of a heat pump, a heat engine, a hot and a cold storage. It can be operated as a pure bulk electricity storage (alternative to Pumped Heat Electrical Storage (PHES)/Compressed Air Energy Storage (CAES)) or as combined storage of heat, cold and electricity. Both variations

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Synthesis of atomically dispersed catalysts via hydrogen embrittlement-like assisted thermal activation for acidic oxygen reduction

open access: yesNature Communications
Atomically dispersed catalysts based on 3d metals have been extensively explored in the catalytic field, but stabilizing 4d and 5d metals like Ru, Pd, and Pt as single atoms remains a challenge due to their high cohesive energies.
