Hodge stratification in low dimension [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
We define and study the Hodge stratification for the special fiber of Shimura varieties defined with the Pappas-Rapoport condition, in the case of low ramification index ($e \leq 3$). For $e \leq 2$, the Hodge polygon induces a strong stratification. For $e=3$, one needs to introduce several polygons. They describe the isomorphism class of the sheaf of

Variability of currents and mixing processes during the onset of the equatorial cold tongue in the Atlantic [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The heat content of the surface water masses is important for the circulation of the oceans and the atmosphere. The surface layer serves as a medium for the ocean-atmosphere exchange and thereby significantly affects the dynamics of our climate.

3-D Simulations of Protostellar Jets in Stratified Ambient Media [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
We present fully three-dimensional hydrodynamical simulations of radiative cooling jets propagating into stratified isothermal ambient media with power-law density and pressure distributions.

Targeting Hyperglycemic Bone Pre‐Metastatic Niche for Breast Cancer Bone Metastasis Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that breast cancer creates a hyperglycemic pre‐metastatic niche in bone prior to colonization and amplifies glucose metabolism post‐metastasis. To target this mechanism, a biomimetic enzyme‐engineered nanoplatform that disrupts tumor glycolytic pathways, proposing a therapeutic strategy to inhibit breast cancer bone metastasis by ...

Dormancy-Breaking Requirements and Germination for Seeds of Ostrya carpinifolia Scop.

open access: yesNotulae Botanicae Horti Agrobotanici Cluj-Napoca, 2014
The present research aims at investigating the combined effects of warm stratification (WS)+cold stratification (CS), and gibberellic acid (GA3)+cold stratification (CS) on breaking dormancy and germination in seeds of Ostrya carpinifolia. The seeds were

Stratifications in the reduction of Shimura varieties [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
In the paper four stratifications in the reduction modulo $p$ of a general Shimura variety are studied: the Newton stratification, the Kottwitz-Rapoport stratification, the Ekedahl-Oort stratification and the Ekedahl-Kottwitz-Oort-Rapoport stratification.

The Role of Seed Bank and Germination Dynamics in the Restoration of a Tidal Freshwater Marsh in the Sacramento–San Joaquin Delta [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Liberty Island, California, is a historical freshwater tidal wetland that was converted to agricultural fields in the early 1900s. Liberty Island functioned as farmland until an accidental levee break flooded the area in 1997, inadvertently restoring ...

Produção de árvore neotropical: percepções sobre a germinação, crescimento e plantio de Maytenus boaria [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Knowledge about tree production practices is essential to support forestrestoration projects, but is still lacking for many tree species. Maytenus boaria is a neotropical tree distributed across the temperate and subtropical South American mountains.
