Prediction Models for Sentinel Lymph Node Metastasis in Clinically Node‐Negative Breast Cancer: Validation of Existing Nomograms, Model Development, and Ensemble Evaluation

open access: yesWorld Journal of Surgery, EarlyView.
Prediction models using routine clinicopathological variables can identify patients with a very low risk of sentinel lymph node macrometastasis. Ensemble modeling modestly improves classification and increases the proportion of patients eligible for safe, risk‐adapted axillary de‐escalation.

Risk Factors for Cutaneous Immune‐Related Adverse Events in the Japanese Population: A Retrospective Single‐Center Cohort Study

open access: yesThe Journal of Dermatology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI)‐driven alterations in the immune system can induce immune‐related adverse events (irAEs). Cutaneous irAEs are notable for being the most common and for their early onset; however, the risk factors underlying their development and severity remain unclear. In this study, we retrospectively analyzed 1224 Japanese

Imaging of Abdominal Complications in Children With Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia

open access: yesJournal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) is the most common paediatric malignancy and remains one of the most common causes of cancer‐related death in children and adolescents. Five‐year overall survival rates now exceed 90% with current multidrug chemotherapeutic regimens. This improvement, coupled with the toxicity of chemotherapy, has led to the

Combined Contrast Enhanced Mammography and Digital Breast Tomosynthesis in Patients Suspected of Having Breast Cancer: A Prospective Comparison With Digital Mammography and Breast MRI—Findings of the CONTEST Study

open access: yesJournal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction We aimed to assess diagnostic performance and accuracy for local staging of CEM combined with DBT (CE + DBT) compared to digital mammography (DM) and MRI. Methods Female patients aged 18–70 years with clinical or sonographic suspicion of breast cancer had CE + DBT and breast MRI prior to treatment.

A Single Centre Feasibility Study of Vacuum Assisted Breast Biopsy Excision as a Non‐Surgical Alternative for Selected Women With Borderline Breast Lesions

open access: yesANZ Journal of Surgery, EarlyView.
In a feasibility study at an Australian teaching hospital, women showed a clear preference for VAB Ex over surgical breast biopsy. The clinical outcomes confirm the safety and effectiveness of this approach. Overall, 90% of women had benign VAB Ex findings and did not require SBB, creating capacity in the healthcare system.

Active surveillance of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and adverse pregnancy outcomes: A register‐based cohort study

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
Active surveillance for cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade 2 is not associated with increased risks of adverse pregnancy outcomes compared to large loop excision of the transformation zone. Abstract Introduction Previous studies have suggested that human papillomavirus (HPV) and HPV‐related disease may be associated with increased risk of adverse

Extracorporeal Albumin Dialysis (OPAL) as Novel Therapeutic Bridging Option in Posthepatectomy Liver Failure

open access: yesArtificial Organs, EarlyView.
Extracorporeal albumin dialysis (OPAL) effectively reduces bilirubin and improves other laboratory markers in posthepatectomy liver failure, particularly in secondary forms. It may serve as a bridging therapy to support hepatic recovery in critically ill patients, although prospective studies are needed to confirm its impact on survival.
