Collective efficacy in sports and physical activities: perceived emotional synchrony and shared flow

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2016
This cross-sectional study analyzes the relationship between collective efficacy and two psychosocial processes involved in collective sport-physical activities.

On Statistical Fluctuations in Collective Flows

open access: yesUniverse, 2023
In relativistic heavy-ion collisions, event-by-event fluctuations are known to have non-trivial implications. Even though the probability distribution is geometrically isotropic for the initial conditions, the anisotropic εn still differs from zero owing to the statistical fluctuations in the energy profile.

Exploring the Partonic Phase at Finite Chemical Potential in and out-of Equilibrium

open access: yesParticles, 2020
We study the influence of the baryon chemical potential μ B on the properties of the Quark−Gluon−Plasma (QGP) in and out-of equilibrium.

Collective Flow with PHOBOS [PDF]

open access: yesActa Physica Hungarica A) Heavy Ion Physics, 2005
This paper reviews recent results on directed and elliptic flow from the PHOBOS experiment using data taken during Au+Au runs at RHIC. The systematic dependence of flow on pseudorapidity, energy, transverse momentum and centrality is discussed.

Collective flow in single-hit QCD kinetic theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
Motivated by recent interest in collectivity in small systems, we calculate the harmonic flow response to initial geometry deformations within weakly coupled QCD kinetic theory using the first correction to the free-streaming background.

Modes of information flow in collective cohesion

open access: yesScience Advances, 2022
Pairwise interactions are fundamental drivers of collective behavior—responsible for group cohesion. The abiding question is how each individual influences the collective. However, time-delayed mutual information and transfer entropy, commonly used to quantify mutual influence in aggregated individuals, can result in misleading interpretations.

Collective flow of identified hadrons at the LHC [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2019
Using our developed new relativistic viscous hydrodynamics code, we investigate the QGP bulk property from comparison with the ALICE data of Pb+Pb √sNN = 2.76 TeV collisions at the Large Hadron Collider.

Oscillations and collective behavior in convective flows [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics of Fluids, 2021
Oscillations and collective behavior in convection-driven fluid columns are investigated and discussed in analogy with similar phenomenon observed for the flickering flames of candle bundles. Experimentally, it is shown that an ascending circular helium gas column performs an oscillation which is similar in several aspects to the oscillation of ...

Collective states of active matter with stochastic reversals: Emergent chiral states and spontaneous current switching

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2022
We study the collective dynamical behavior of active particles with topological interactions and directional reversals. Surprising phenomena are shown to emerge as the interaction relaxation time is varied relative to the reversal rate, such as the ...

The High-Density Symmetry Energy in Heavy-Ion Collisions and Compact Stars

open access: yesUniverse, 2018
High-density nuclear symmetry energy is of crucial importance in astrophysics. Information on such energy has been obtained from mass–radius determinations of neutron stars (NSs), and in the future NS mergers will increasingly contribute.
