Collective Computation, Information Flow, and the Emergence of Hunter-Gatherer Small-Worlds
Two key features of human sociality are anatomically complex brains with neuron-dense cerebral cortices, and the propensity to form complex social networks with non-kin.

Radial flow of kaon mesons in heavy ion reactions [PDF]
This work investigates the collective motion of kaons in heavy ion reactions at SIS energies (about 1-2 GeV/nucleon). A radial collective flow of $K^+$ mesons is predicted to exist in central Au + Au collisions, which manifests in a characteristic ...

Isospin effects on rotational flow in intermediate energy heavy ion collisions [PDF]
Within the framework of an isospin-dependent quantum molecular dynamics model, the rotational flow in reactions of $^{58}$Fe + $^{58}$Fe and $^{58}$% Ni + $^{58}$Ni at 40 MeV/nucleon for different impact parameters is investigated by analyzing the mid ...

Collective flow measurements at RHIC energies
Recent experimental results on collective flow measurements from relativistic heavy-ion collider (RHIC) are presented and discussed to study high-temperature and high-density quark-nuclear matter, Quark Gluon Plasma (QGP) especially focusing on bulk ...

Properties and causes of the collective flow [PDF]
Abstract The properties of the collective flow occurring in the course of nucleus-nucleus collisions are investigated within the intranuclear cascade (INC) model. Contrary to our previous work, we here use a version of the cascade where the Fermi motion of the spectators is frozen until they interact for the first time.

Event-shape fluctuations and flow correlations in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions
I review recent measurements of a large set of flow observables associated with event-shape fluctuations and collective expansion in heavy ion collisions. First, these flow observables are classified and experiment methods are introduced.

Hbt Analysis of Anisotropic Transverse Flow [PDF]
The effects of anisotropic transverse collective flow on the HBT correlation function is studied. There exist three different physics contributions related to flow which affect the correlation function: anisotropic source shape, anisotropic space ...

Morphology of High-Multiplicity Events in Heavy Ion Collisions
We discuss opportunities that may arise from subjecting high-multiplicity events in relativistic heavy ion collisions to an analysis similar to the one used in cosmology for the study of fluctuations of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB). To this end,

Empirical moments of inertia of axially asymmetric nuclei
Empirical moments of inertia, J1, J2, J3, of atomic nuclei with E(41+)/E(21+)>2.7 are extracted from experimental 2g,γ+ energies and electric quadrupole matrix elements, determined from multi-step Coulomb excitation data, and the results are compared to ...
