Collective Hypersonic Excitations in Strongly Multiple Scattering Colloids

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2011
Unprecedented low-dispersion high-frequency acoustic excitations are observed in dense suspensions of elastically hard colloids. The experimental phononic band structure for SiO(2) particles with different sizes and volume fractions is well represented by rigorous full-elastodynamic multiple-scattering calculations.

Designing Polymer Nanocomposites for X‐Ray Shielding: Mechanisms, Architectures, and Scalable Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights advances in lightweight, lead‐free polymer nanocomposites for diagnostic X‐ray shielding. By linking filler chemistry, dispersion, architecture, and photon interaction mechanisms, it establishes structure–performance relationships guiding material design.

Neutron scattering investigation of low-momentum collective ion dynamics in liquid potassium

open access: yes, 2003
The low-momentum collective ion dynamics of molten potassium has been investigated by means of a high-resolution inelastic neutron-scattering experiment.

Magnetic Control of Chiral Hybridized Phonon Magnetic Moments in Ferrimagnets Fe2‐xZnxMo3O8

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Helicity‐resolved magneto‐Raman spectroscopy reveals magnetic control of chiral phonon magnetic moments in polar ferrimagnet (ZnxFe2−xMo3O₈). Large spontaneous zero‐field phonon splittings, selective phonon–magnon coupling, and asymmetric Zeeman responses demonstrate that phonon chirality is governed by magnon‐phonon coupling and magnetization.

X-ray probe development for collective scattering measurements in dense plasmas

open access: yes, 2006
X-ray spectra and conversion efficiencies of the laser-produced chlorine Ly- α and K- α line radiation have been investigated to develop X-ray probes for the collective scattering regime. The Ly- α radiation was produced by either smoothed or un-smoothed

Multiple Scattering of a Pulse from a Random Collection of Volume Scatterers [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1970
The first systematic treatment of multiple scattering based on the wave equation was made by L. L. Foldy [“The Multiple Scattering of Waves,” Phys. Rev. 67, 107–119 (1945)]. Foldy's unique contribution was the introduction of the concept of “configurational” averaging of relevant physical quantities by defining a joint probability distribution for the ...

Biomimetic Nanovaccine Integrating Dendritic Cell Exosomes with Tumor Cell Membranes for Sustained Prophylaxis Against Glioblastoma

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We have developed DEX/GM, an all‐natural, personalizable hybrid vaccine designed by coating dendritic cell‐derived exosomes (DEX) onto tumor cell membranes (GM) for sustained prophylaxis against glioblastoma (GBM). ABSTRACT Glioblastoma (GBM), one of the most aggressive and lethal brain tumors, remains incurable with a poor clinical prognosis.

Alpha Particle Diagnostics Using Collective Thomson Scattering in D-T Experiments

open access: yes, 1996
The principle of measurements, present status, and various issues of collective Thomson scattering for alpha particle diagnostics using gyrotron in D-T experiments are reviewed. Particular attention is paid to the experiments at the TFTR and JET tokamaks.

Human Gut Bacteria and Lipidic Nanoparticles: Particle Composition Predicts Structural Transformation and Bacterial Biocompatibility

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Lipidic nanoparticles (LNPs) were incubated with 21 gut bacteria frequently associated with the human microbiome. SAXS revealed that ∼75% of tested species induced structural transformations in monoolein LNPs, whereas phytantriol and phospholipid formulations remained unaffected.

Strain‐Programmable Luminescent Adhesive Patch With Tartrazine‐Mediated Optical Skin Clearing for Photochemical Tissue Bonding

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We propose a suture‐complementary approach that integrates optical skin clearing with a strain‐programmable luminescent adhesive patch. Hyaluronic acid promotes transdermal delivery of tartrazine to improve optical clearing and stabilizes its interaction with a photosensitizer. Optical clearing increases the penetration depth of visible light into skin,
