Effect of Crosslinking on the Physical Properties and Antifungal Activity of Active Coatings Containing Cinnamon Essential Oil for Anthracnose Control in Mangoes

open access: yesJournal of Food Science, Volume 90, Issue 12, December 2025.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to verify the stability of cinnamon essential oil (CEO) nanoemulsions after their incorporation into polymer‐based coatings for the control of anthracnose in mangoes. A 0.75% CEO emulsion with Tween 80 was produced via ultrasonication and incorporated into sodium alginate (1%) and carboxymethylcellulose (0.5%) solutions, with ...

Relative Susceptibility of Selected Apple Cultivars to Colletotrichum acutatum [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Disease, 2001
Eighteen apple cultivars were tested in the field and laboratory for their relative susceptibility to one of the bitter rot pathogens, Colletotrichum acutatum. Fruit were inoculated in the field at 3 to 4 weeks preharvest with cheesecloth strips soaked in a conidia suspension.

FaMYB63 and FvWYRKY75 Activate FvPR10.14 Boosting Strawberry Immunity Against Powdery Mildew

open access: yesMolecular Plant Pathology, Volume 26, Issue 12, December 2025.
In response to powdery mildew infection, strawberry enhances disease immunity by activating FvPR10.14 via a MYB63/WRKY75 transcriptional module through hormone‐ and ROS‐mediated signalling pathways. ABSTRACT Powdery mildew, caused by Podosphaera aphanis, poses a significant threat to strawberry production, while current chemical controls raise ...

Azospirillum brasilense siderophores with antifungal activity against Colletotrichum acutatum

open access: yesArchives of Microbiology, 2011
Anthracnose, caused by the fungus Colletotrichum acutatum is one of the most important diseases in strawberry crop. Due to environmental pollution and resistance produced by chemical fungicides, nowadays biological control is considered a good alternative for crop protection.
