Indication for and Effect of Adjuvant Chemotherapy for Stage IIa (T3N0M0) Colon Cancer [PDF]
Purpose The efficacy of adjuvant chemotherapy (AC) in stage IIa colon cancer is controversial. This study aimed to investigate the factors influencing survival in patients with stage IIa colon cancer, the role of AC, and the indications for AC ...

Epiplakin expression dynamics during colon carcinogenesis: Correlation with proliferation
Colorectal cancer poses a significant global health challenge, with a considerable proportion arising from colon adenomas. Understanding the molecules involved in the carcinogenesis process is crucial for improving colon cancer diagnosis and prognosis ...

Adenocarcinoma do colon revelado por endocardite por estreptococos bovis.
The association of Streptococcus bovis endocarditis with colonic neoplasms has been well documented. We describe a patient in whom the finding of a Str. bovis endocarditis stimulated investigation which resulted in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of

Apc mutation induces resistance of colonic cells to lipoperoxide-triggered apoptosis induced by faecal water from haem-fed rats [PDF]
Recent epidemiological studies suggest that high meat intake is associated with promotion of colon cancer linked to haem-iron intake. We previously reported that dietary haem, in the form of either haemoglobin or meat, promotes precancerous lesions in ...

Colonic fermentation – more than meets the nose [PDF]
Fermentation of undigested foods in the colon by its resident bacteria affects not only colonic health (protection against inflammation and tumour formation) but also influences metabolic health.

The process of internalization of the Shiga toxin A subunit via formation of a complex with the Shiga toxin B subunit, which specifically binds to the Gb3 receptor. The peptide is designed to act as a carrier of drugs into cancer cells. Here, we explored the potential of peptides derived from the catalytic A subunit of Shiga toxin (STxA) to be drug ...

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.
