Separating color from color contrast
Visual objects can be described by their color and by their color contrast. For example, a red disk in front of a white background appears "red with high color contrast," whereas a red disk in front of a slightly less-saturated red background will appear "red with low color contrast." This paper examines the visual response to color contrast in a cone ...

Between coloring and list-coloring: μ-coloring
A new variation of the coloring problem, μ-coloring, is defined in this paper. A coloring of a graph G = (V,E) is a function f : V → N such that f(v) 6= f(w) if v is adjacent to w. Given a graph G = (V,E) and a function μ : V → N, G is μ-colorable if it admits a coloring f with f(v) ≤ μ(v) for each v ∈ V .

Color Constancy Using Single Colors [PDF]
This work investigates if the von Kries adaptation can be generalized to deal with single colored patches. We investigate which colored patches can give statistically equivalent performance to a white patch for von Kries adaptation. The investigation is then extended to couples of colors, and the analysis of the characteristics of the colors forming ...
