Colors and Things [PDF]

open access: yesi-Perception, 2020
How many colors are there? Quoted numbers range from ten million to a dozen. Are colors object properties? Opinions range all the way from of course they are to no, colors are just mental paint. These questions are ill-posed. We submit that the way to tackle such questions is to adopt a biological approach, based on the evolutionary past of hominins ...

Color Transparency - Color Coherent Effects in Nuclear Physics [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Efforts to observe color transparency in the reactions: (e,e'p), (p,pp) and coherent nuclear diffractive dissociation of pions into two jets are reviewed.Comment: Text of invited talk given at the 1997 meeting of Intersections Between Particle and ...

Exploring the limits of color accuracy in technical photography

open access: yesHeritage Science, 2021
The growing importance of publishing art collections online has led to increasingly strict tolerances on digital photography of art objects. There are two internationally recognized sets of guidelines for creating high-quality digital images, Metamorfoze

Color strings, pomeron shadowing and Color Glass Condensate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
I review the problem of parton saturation and its implications through three in principal different approaches, but somewhat related: saturation in a geometrical approach, QCD saturation through the Color Glass Condensate and shadowing in a Pomeron ...

Between coloring and list-coloring: μ-coloring

open access: yesElectronic Notes in Discrete Mathematics, 2005
A new variation of the coloring problem, μ-coloring, is defined in this paper. A coloring of a graph G = (V,E) is a function f : V → N such that f(v) 6= f(w) if v is adjacent to w. Given a graph G = (V,E) and a function μ : V → N, G is μ-colorable if it admits a coloring f with f(v) ≤ μ(v) for each v ∈ V .

Dehazing in hyperspectral images: the GRANHHADA database

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
In this study, we present an analysis of dehazing techniques for hyperspectral images in outdoor scenes. The aim of our research is to compare different dehazing approaches for hyperspectral images and introduce a new hyperspectral image database called ...

Analytic calculation of color-Coulomb potential and color confinement [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We develop a calculational scheme in Coulomb and temporal gauge that respects gauge invariance and is most easily applied to the infrared asymptotic region of QCD.
