Glass and Ceramics, 2012
Materials for the most widely used colored glasses are analyzed according to types of coloring and color centers. Selenium coloring of glass is examined in greater detail from the standpoint of the current understanding of the structure of pigments and the formation of color centers.

Color centers in diamond for quantum applications
, 2020Color centers in diamond can be devised in quantum applications. The most successful exemplary color center is the nitrogen-vacancy (NV) center in diamond that has high spin ground state with favorable spin coherence time from cryogenic to room ...

Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids, 1991
Abstract Color centers in alkali halide crystals can be applied as high-gain active materials in tunable solid state lasers. When cryogenically cooled and optically pumped, these laser crystals have low threshold pump powers, relatively high output powers, and are smoothly tunable over a large fraction of their broad emission bands.

Il Nuovo Cimento, 1955
Although it is not likely that reactions involving color centers will ever be put on the precise thermodynamic basis of many reactions in liquid solutions where in many cases it has been possible to determine not only all of the species taking part in the process but their chemical activities as well, quantitative studies of the kind outlined here have

The Distribution of Color Matchings Around a Color Center*
Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1945Experimental data concerning the accuracy of visual chromaticity matching (automatically constant luminance) which were previously summarized graphically, are compared with predictions based on the assumption of a normal frequency distribution in two dimensions.

Luminescence of aggregate color centers in KF
Journal of Luminescence, 1991Abstract Complex F-aggregate centers were studied in pure and Li 1 -doped KF, by means of optical excitation. Three new emission bands in the near infrared region were revealed. Among them, the luminescence at 1040 nm was identified as the emission of F 3 defects because of its excitation, its peak position and its enhancement under irradiation at ...

Picosecond spectroscopy of color center in KBr:OH−
Solid State Communications, 1993Abstract The rapid decay of the excited state of the F centers in KBr:OH− has been measured by mean of a pump and probe technique with picosecond time resolution. The lifetime of the F centers (τ ~ 1 μs at 77 K) is shortened in the OH− doped samples, to τ ∼ 310 ps.

Color centers in salts - Evidence for the presence of sulfates on Europa
Icarus (New York, N.Y. 1962), 2019We have conducted experiments to better understand the extent to which radiation-induced color changes observed at near-ultraviolet through near-infrared wavelengths for various salts could provide insight into the composition of the nonice material(s ...

Color Centers in Irradiated Durene Crystals
Physica Status Solidi (a), 1981The optical absorption spectra of γ-irradiated durene single crystals at 77 K are measured using light polarized along the a-, b-, and c′-axes of crystals. In the shorter wavelength region five strong absorption bands are detected. At longer wavelength weak bands at 489 nm with well desolved vibrational structures and relatively broad weak bands at 570
