Performance of the amazonian tambaqui, Colossoma macropomum, in pond polyculture
Aquacultural Engineering, 1993Abstract Tambaqui (48%) was reared in polyculture with grass carp (27%) and curimbata (25%) from 75 g mean weight for a period of 164 days. Ponds of 1200 m2 were stocked at a total density of 12720 ha−1. Fish were fed with an experimental diet made from soybean and maize at a daily rate calculated as 3% of the tambaqui biomass.

Effects of climate change and mixtures of pesticides on the Amazonian fish Colossoma macropomum
Science of The Total EnvironmentSeveral studies highlighted the complexity of mixing pesticides present in Amazonian aquatic environments today. There is evidence that indicates that ongoing climate change can alter the pattern of pesticide use, increasing the concentration and frequency of pesticide applications.

Fish Physiology and Biochemistry
The effects of thermal shock on hematological, biochemical and antioxidant responses were evaluated in liver tissue of juvenile tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum) and tambatinga (♀ C. macropomum × ♂ Piaractus brachypomus). Forty juveniles of tambaqui and 40 juveniles of tambatinga, of the same age and with an initial weight of 23.3 ± 6.7 g, were randomly ...

Tolerance to nitrogenous compounds for larval and juvenile Colossoma macropomum
Nitrogenous compounds are among the main toxic substances that are produced in aquaculture systems, and their tolerance limits vary between species and their stages of development. In this study, in six bioassays, the acute toxicity (LC50-96h) of total ammonia nitrogen (TAN = NH3-N + NH4+-N), non-ionized ammonia (NH3-N), nitrite (NO2--N) and nitrate ...Raphael Brito Dos Santos +7 more
