Flat slab performance under loss of a corner column senario [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Abnormal loading events such as explosions, vehicle collisions, and foundation failure are not considered in an ordinary structural design. The local damage caused by such low-probability loads, however, may result in a chain reaction of structural ...

Ultimate Performance of External End-plate Bolted Joints Under Column Loss Scenario Accounting for the Influence of the Transverse Beam [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Background: Steel beam-to-column joints are generally designed and analysed considering the response parame-ters in their main bending plane, disregarding the influence of the connections and the related beams in ...

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Strengthening Details for Low-Damage Seismic Dissipative Beam-to-Column Joints in Case of Column Loss Scenario [PDF]

open access: yes
peer reviewedLow-damage beam-to-column steel joints equipped with friction de- vices have been recently prequalified for European applications within FREEDAM and FREEDAM+ research projects. Despite their excellent seismic performance, these joints may

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

The comparison of ammonia removal from air by a wet scrubber packed with ceramic raschig rings and PVC [PDF]

open access: yesطب کار, 2013
Background: Different packing materials are used in wet scrubbers that each one has its own advantages and limitations. Common ceramic packing materials have high removal efficiency but they are heavy, fragile and high head loss along the bed.

Boosting Network Weight Separability via Feed-Backward Reconstruction

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
This paper proposes a new evaluation metric and a boosting method for weight separability in neural network design. In contrast to general visual recognition methods designed to encourage both intra-class compactness and inter-class separability of ...

Stationary and rotational axisymmetric granular column collapse [PDF]

open access: yes
The experiments presented investigate the collapse of a granular column on a stationary surface and a rotating table. A cylinder of radius r0 was positioned on the surface and filled with particulate to a height h0, giving an aspect ratio a = h0/r0.

Seismic loss-of-support conditions of frictional beam-to-column connections [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The evaluation of the loss-of-support conditions of frictional beam-to-column connections using simplified numerical models describing the transverse response of a portal-like structure is presented in this paper considering the effects of the seismic ...
