In Situ Stress‐Dispersing Hydrogel Millispheres via Load Redistribution to Restore Nucleus Pulposus Metabolic Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Local stress concentration disrupts metabolic homeostasis and induces inflammation in the nucleus pulposus (NP), thereby accelerating intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD). A biomimetic HA/ChS hydrogel millimeter sphere (ChS@HM) is developed to enable synergistic stress dispersion and sustained hydration lubrication.

ANXA2‐mediated Phagocytosis Generates AR+ Macrophages to Confer Enzalutamide Resistance in Prostate Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel resistance mechanism is mediated through phagocytosis of cancer cells by AR+ TAMs. This process, dependent on ANXA2, enables macrophages to acquire AR protein from engulfed tumor cells. The internalized AR translocates into the macrophage nucleus, where it binds directly to the IL‐6 promoter, augmenting IL‐6 transcription and secretion ...

Facilitating self-management support using the behaviour change wheel (BCW) to address healthcare professionals’ behaviour

open access: yesInternational Journal of Educational Research Open
Background: Supporting self-management in healthcare practice is essential to improve chronic patients’ daily life experiences. Primary care professionals play an indispensable role in this. Nevertheless, supporting self-management in practice comes with

Noninvasive Focal Gene Delivery into the Cerebellum of Non‐Human Primates using Focused Ultrasound

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Focal and non‐invasive viral vector delivery in non‐human primates remains a major challenge in translational neuroscience. Low‐intensity focused ultrasound was used to transiently open the blood–brain barrier and enable targeted gene delivery to the cerebellum.

One‐Dimensional RuIrTe Nanotubes with Amorphous Surface as a Highly Active and Stable Electrocatalyst Toward Oxygen Evolution Reaction in Acidic Media

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A rational etching‐induced reconstruction strategy is demonstrated to fabricate one‐dimensional RuIrTe ternary nanotubes with a unique amorphous‐crystalline heterostructure. This hierarchical architecture synergistically optimizes mass transport and electronic configurations, delivering record‐breaking performance in proton exchange membrane water ...

Using the COM-B model of behaviour to understand sitting behaviour in UK office workers

open access: yesSport & Exercise Psychology Review, 2018
Prolonged sedentary behaviour has established health risks; however many individuals spend long periods of time sitting at work. Qualitative researchers suggest that inconsistent effectiveness of interventions may be linked to an incomplete understanding of the nature of and factors influencing sedentary behaviour in the workplace.

G6PC Downregulation Promotes Renal Calcium Oxalate Stone Formation via Lactate‐Induced SNAIL1 K206 Lactylation and Epithelial‐Mesenchymal Transition

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In renal calcium oxalate stone formation, G6PC downregulation leads to lactate accumulation. This lactate mediates CBP/p300‐dependent lactylation of SNAIL1 at K206, promoting its nuclear translocation. Nuclear SNAIL1 activates the TGF‐β/SMAD3 pathway, driving epithelial‐mesenchymal transition and fibrosis, which ultimately facilitates crystal ...
