Five patients, 4 female and 1 male, aged 45 to 73, were observed in myxedema coma between 1984 and 1992. In three patients hypothyroidism was not known. Depressed consciousness, hypothermia, bradycardia and no goiter were common to all and a precipitating factor could be identified in 3 of them.

Tablets submitted to drug checking services that were found to contain bromazolam. Over half of these counterfeit tablets mimicked the appearance of licensed formulations (e.g., alprazolam Xanax bars and diazepam Roche 10 mg pills). Bromazolam is now the most commonly detected street benzodiazepine in drug poisoning deaths in the United Kingdom ...

Watching a Comet Turn On: High Spectral Resolving Power Observations of Comet C/2017 K2 (PanSTARRS)
We report high spectral resolving power optical observations of comet C/2017 K2 (PanSTARRS) as it approached the Sun. This comet was discovered when it was 16 au from the Sun. At discovery, the comet had a large and relatively bright coma.

Improvement of Peak Integration in Capillary Electrophoresis: Reference Data Set No. 1
ABSTRACT Capillary electrophoresis (CE) often provides superior separation of macromolecules such as monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), a major biopharmaceutical class, compared with liquid chromatography. However, electropherograms frequently exhibit complex baselines and peak shapes that are not reliably handled by integration algorithms designed for ...

Activity of Halley-type Comets 12P/Pons–Brooks and 13P/Olbers from SOHO/SWAN Observations
The Solar Wind ANisotropies (SWAN) all-sky hydrogen Ly α camera on the Solar and Heliosphere Observatory (SOHO) observed the hydrogen coma of Halley-type comet (HTC) 12P/Pons–Brooks from SOHO’s halo orbit around L1 throughout its 2023–2024 apparition ...
