Some basics on tolerances [PDF]
In this note we deal with sensitivity analysis of combinatorial optimization problems and its fundamental term, the tolerance. For three classes of objective functions (?, ?, MAX) we prove some basic properties on upper and lower tolerances. We show that

Controlled carbonization of an Al‐MOF partially decomposes its linkers, exposing coordinatively unsaturated Al centers within an oxide/carbon composite. The resulting Lewis acid sites, rather than surface area, govern organochlorine capture: the composite removes chemically diverse organochlorines from waste plastic pyrolysis oil, outperforms a ...

Bound sets for biobjective combinatorial optimization problems
International audienceIn this paper we introduce the concept of bound sets for multiobjective discrete optimization. We prove general results on lower and upper bound sets for combinatorial optimization problems with multiple objectives.

Mask‐encoded UV exposure translates digital color information into pixel‐resolved structural‐color patterns in hydroxypropyl cellulose gels. Gaussian‐process‐guided calibration links UV processing conditions, wavelength, and mask opacity, enabling parallel fabrication of multicolor images in a single 10 s exposure.

Conversion‐induced sulfur expansion generates strong mechanical constraints and localized stresses within solid‐state Li‐S cathodes. Heterogeneous solid‐electrolyte confinement creates tensile strain‐energy hotspots that govern particle cracking. Larger sulfur particles accelerate fracture, while higher porosity relaxes constraint and delays damage ...

Combinatorial Optimization with Competing Agents
This chapter deals with three specific studies conducted within the combinatorial optimization for competing agents (COCA) project. It also deals with optimization problems arising from the relationship between members of a social network.

Combining field‐effect surface passivation of a narrow‐bandgap tin–lead perovskite by diammonium ions with introducing oleyl‐based amphiphiles to create insulating interface layers between the absorber and the adjacent hole and electron transporting layers increases the open‐circuit voltage to 91.5% of the detailed‐balance limit and enhances the power ...

Neuromorphic devices for extreme environments are interpreted through the physical states that store and process information. Radiation, temperature extremes, and vacuum can perturb vacancies, filaments, trapped charges, polarization, interfaces, and readout signals.

Discrete optimization problems with random cost elements [PDF]
In a general class of discrete optimization problems, some of the elements mayhave random costs associated with them. In such a situation, the notion of optimalityneeds to be suitably modified.
