Multimodal Locomotion in Insect‐Inspired Microrobots: A Review of Strategies for Aerial, Surface, Aquatic, and Interfacial Motion

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This review identifies key design considerations for insect‐inspired microrobots capable of multimodal locomotion. To draw inspiration, biological and robotic strategies for moving in air, on water surfaces, and underwater are examined, along with approaches for crossing the air–water interface.

Advanced Numerical Analysis of In-Cylinder Combustion and NOx Formation Using Different Chamber Geometries

open access: yesFire
In diesel engines, emission formation inside the combustion chamber is a complex phenomenon. The combustion events inside the chamber occur in microseconds, affecting the overall engine performance and emissions characteristics.

Research on Aero Engine Emission Based on Combustion Chamber Size Optimization

open access: yesHangkong gongcheng jinzhan, 2018
The emission of aero piston engines has been a focused problem. The combustion chamber size is of certain effect on engine emissions performance. A piston engine is taken as the object of study.

Large Eddy Simulation of combustion instabilities in a lean partially premixed swirled flame [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This paper investigates one issue related to Large Eddy Simulations (LES) of self- excited combustion instabilities in gas-fueled swirled burners: the effects of incom- plete mixing between the gas injection and the combustion chamber.

Dysfunctional TRIM31 of POMC Neurons Provokes Hypothalamic Injury and Peripheral Metabolic Disorder under Long‐Term Fine Particulate Matter Exposure

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Particulate matter ≤2.5 µm (PM2.5) elevates risks of neurological and chronic metabolic diseases, but the underlying mechanisms linking PM2.5‐induced central nervous system (CNS) injury to metabolic dysfunction remain unclear. Hypothalamic pro‐opiomelanocortin‐expressing (POMC+) neurons regulate systemic metabolic homeostasis, and tripartite motif ...

Effect of structural parameters of active pre-chamber on ammonia/hydrogen premixed combustion process: A numerical investigation

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
The development of zero-carbon fuels is of great significance for reducing carbon emissions. Using an ammonia/hydrogen mixture as fuel, the combustion in engine through an active pre-chamber has a good effect on reducing carbon emissions.

Simulation model for different bolted precombustion chamber (PCC) for spark ignition engine

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
In an engine, two combustion chamber are present in the cylinder. First, the main combustion chamber and the other is called the auxiliary combustion chamber also known as pre-combustion chamber (PCC).

Stagnation point reverse flow combustor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A method for combusting a combustible fuel includes providing a vessel having an opening near a proximate end and a closed distal end defining a combustion chamber. A combustible reactants mixture is presented into the combustion chamber. The combustible

A Multi‐Step Deposition Strategy for β‐SiC Coatings on Cf/C Composites: Achieving Breakthrough Oxidation Resistance and Mechanical Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A new multi‐step β‐SiC deposition strategy for anti‐oxidation Cf/C composites successfully achieves dual‐performance breakthrough of anti‐oxidation property (≈700 h at 1500 °C)and mechanical property (bending strength of 215 MPa and adhesion strength of 9.4 MPa).

Metal‐Mediated Nitrogen Doping of Carbon Supports Boosts Hydrogen Production from Ammonia

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A virtuous catalytic cycle is established as the carbon support simultaneously tunes electron density and stores atomic nitrogen formed via Ru–N species during ammonia decomposition, resulting in self‐enhancing catalysis. Abstract Ammonia is an attractive hydrogen carrier, yet its practical use is limited by the need for efficient catalytic ...
