Combustion characteristics of bamboo-biochars
Bioresource Technology, 2014Combustion characteristics of biomass are very important to directly utilize as an energy resource. Bamboo was carbonized using a XD-1200N muffle furnace in the nitrogen environment and its combustion characteristics were investigated. Results showed that bamboo-biochars had better combustion characteristics compared to bamboo materials, such as a ...

Pyrolysis and combustion characteristics of coals in oxyfuel combustion
Applied Energy, 2012Abstract Oxyfuel combustion technology is one of the near-zero emission clean coal technologies, which can realise the large-scale CO 2 capture, low NO x emission, and easier removing of SO 2 . This paper describes the characteristics of pyrolysis, gasification and combustion of coals and chars in oxyfuel combustion applying the non-isothermal ...

Energy & Fuels, 2009
The fuel characteristics of two typical seaweeds (Enteromorpha clathrata and Sargassum natans) were studied. It was found that both the contents of volatile and ash are high, and the ash melting characteristics were different. High contents of alkali metals especially K and Na were also found in seaweed ash.

Combustion Characteristics of Boron Nanoparticles
46th AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting and Exhibit, 2008Abstract An experimental investigation of the combustion characteristics of boron nanoparticles in the post flame region of a flat flame burner has been conducted. Boron is attractive as a fuel or a fuel supplement in propellants and explosives due to its high heats of combustion on both a gravimetric and volumetric basis. A relatively large database
