Characteristic times for combustion and pollutant formation in spray combustion

Symposium (International) on Combustion, 1977
The dominant physical processes in a liquid spray fueled burner (fuel evaporation, turbulent mixing, and chemical reaction) are characterized by time scales which typify the importance of each process. Guided by a physical model of the flame structure in the wake of a disc with liquid fuel injected into the wake region from the center of the disc, the ...

Combustion Characteristics of Seaweed Biomass. 1. Combustion Characteristics of Enteromorpha clathrata and Sargassum natans

Energy & Fuels, 2009
The fuel characteristics of two typical seaweeds (Enteromorpha clathrata and Sargassum natans) were studied. It was found that both the contents of volatile and ash are high, and the ash melting characteristics were different. High contents of alkali metals especially K and Na were also found in seaweed ash.

Combustion Characteristic Analysis

2019
In-cylinder pressure is directly related to the combustion process in reciprocating engines. Thus, the cylinder pressure measurement and its analysis can provide a large amount of information that can be utilized for further development, optimization, and tuning of engines.

Combustion characteristics of metallized compositions

Combustion, Explosion and Shock Waves, 1983
The class of heterogeneous metallized mixtures is very broad with respect both to composition and to technical applications. The use of metallic fuel or metal compounds in compositions capable of self-sustaining combustion is mainly conditioned by the large energy release in the combustion wave during metal oxidation (burning).

Combustion and Emission Characteristics of Methanol

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1975
<div class="htmlview paragraph">A single cylinder engine was used to study the combustion and emission characteristics of methanol and indolene clear fuel. Measurements on ignition delays, combustion intervals, power, and exhaust emissions were made over a range of speeds, loads, and air-fuel mixture ratios (A/F).

Combustion characteristics of monopropylpentaborane flames

Symposium (International) on Combustion, 1965
An account is given of several complementary experiments on the combustion of fuel-lean monopropylpentaborane-air mixtures: viz., determination of burning velocities; measurement of heat-release rates in the well-stirred reactor; determination of composition and temperature profiles in the reaction zone of a flat flame at reduced pressure; analysis of ...

Combustion Characteristics of Gel Fuels

Combustion Science and Technology, 2000
An experimental investigation of the combustion phenomena of gel fuel droplets was conducted using a computerized video system. The ignition and combustion processes were viewed and recorded while the droplet and flame temperatures were measured simultaneously.

Combustion characteristics of isothermal expansion

Journal of the Energy Institute, 2008
AbstractIn this paper, chemical calculations of methane combustion during isothermal expansion are presented. Such a process could be applied in an isothermal turbine, which would greatly increase the overall thermal efficiency of a gas turbine cycle. It has been found that by diluting combustion air with steam water, a mild combustion, without rapid ...
