Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Multipolar Stimulator for Deep Brain Stimulation With Suppression of Stimulation-Induced Common-Mode Artifacts

open access: yesIEEE Access
A crucial part of treating neurological disorders like Parkinson’s and epilepsy involves using Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) systems. This paper describes a system that provides stimulation through a multipolar biphasic current source.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Tunable Balanced Bandpass Filter with High Common-mode Suppression Based on SLSRs

open access: yes, 2017
A tunable balanced bandpass filter (BPF) with a good common-mode (CM) suppression based on slotline resonators is proposed in this letter. Two novel stub-loaded slotline resonators (SLSRs) terminated with varactors are designed to obtain tunable ...

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Differential-mode Band-pass Filter with Wideband Behaviour Featuring Intrinsic Common-mode Suppression

open access: yes
This study introduces a differential-mode band-passfilter (BPF) implemented using microstrip topology, specificallydesigned for wideband applications. The introduced filter is designed using branch-line configuration, incorporating input and output (I/O)

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

A Fault Tolerant 3-Phase Adjustable Speed Drive Topology with Common Mode Voltage Suppression [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A fault tolerant adjustable speed drive (ASD) topology is introduced in this work. A conventional ASD topology is modified to address: a) drive vulnerability to semiconductor device faults b) input voltage sags c) motor vulnerability to effects of long ...

Large mode area pixelated trench fiber

open access: yes, 2014
We propose a novel fiber that offers excellent suppression of higher-order-modes with loss higher than 10dB/m and low loss for fundamental mode (<0.1dB/m) at 1.06µm, with effective area as large as 1100µm2 and excellent bend ...
