The schematic diagram illustrates that the amphibian‐derived peptide OA‐AL14 protects against UVB‐induced skin photoaging through a dual mechanism: activating the Nrf2 pathway to counteract oxidative stress and modulating the AMPK/mTOR axis to induce protective autophagy. ABSTRACT Skin photoaging, primarily driven by ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation, is a

Abstract Inadequate monitoring of biodiversity is a characteristic of conservation the world over. The potential of acoustic monitoring is compelling, although the challenges remain substantial. Effective solutions require transdisciplinary collaboration among stakeholders, a focus on open‐source development, and flexible, multipronged technical ...

Using fecal DNA metabarcoding, we quantified dietary overlap among reintroduced fishers and sympatric coyotes, bobcats, and Pacific martens in Washington's North Cascades. Niche overlap was substantial for common prey but varied with body size, revealing fine‐scale resource partitioning that may limit fishers' access to energetically efficient prey ...

This study aimed to compare both the gut and salivary microbiota over time between allergic and tolerant patients and matched controls. Allergic patients with food protein‐induced enterocolitis syndrome exhibited lower gut and salivary alpha‐diversities, several genus‐level differences, and higher acetate levels than controls.

Sperm Head–Tail Coupling Apparatus Diversity and Common Themes Among Species
ABSTRACT Background A stable connection between the sperm head (containing the nucleus and acrosome) and tail (containing the axoneme, mitochondrial sheath, and periaxonemal structures) is critical for fertility. This connection is mediated by a series of nuclear, cytoplasmic, and centriole components that make up the head–tail coupling apparatus (HTCA)

The oscillatory response of the electroretinogram and neuronal adaptation
Abstract After more than 50 years, there still remains a challenge and an interest to know more as well as extend and deepen our understanding of the small rapid wavelets, the oscillatory potentials (OPs), of the electroretinogram (ERG) and the neuronal adaptation of the retina.
