Novel Marmoset (Callithrix jacchus) Model of Human Herpesvirus 6A and 6B Infections: Immunologic, Virologic and Radiologic Characterization [PDF]
Human Herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) is a ubiquitous virus with an estimated seroprevalence of 95% in the adult population. HHV-6 is associated with several neurologic disorders, including multiple sclerosis, an inflammatory demyelinating disease affecting the ...

Abstract Background Parkinson's disease is mainly characterized by dopaminergic neurodegeneration in the substantia nigra pars compacta (SNc) and α‐synuclein accumulation. The locus coeruleus (LC) is also affected in Parkinson's disease and linked to some nonmotor symptoms, but the extent and timing of its degeneration remain unclear.

We previously reported the efficient targeted introduction of transgenes into the genomic DNA of the common marmoset (Callithrix jacchus) using CRISPR-Cas9. In this study, we generated a marmoset embryonic stem cell (ESC) line that ubiquitously expresses

Mechanistic refinement of the common marmoset model for multiple sclerosis [PDF]
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic neurological disease that affects the brain and spinal cord. It is thought that MS is an autoimmune disease, where a person’s immune system reacts to its own body, namely the myelin sheath that surrounds the nerve

ABSTRACT The emergence of anthelminthic resistance is a well‐documented phenomenon in livestock and companion animals. Given the scarcity of new antiparasitic drugs, the implementation of effective, holistic anthelminthic control strategies is critical to preserving the efficacy of existing treatments.

The MacBrain Resource Center (MBRC) rhesus macaque embryonic brain histology datasets
We introduce the MacBrain Resource Center (MBRC) Collections of rhesus macaque embryonic brain tissue. Here, we illustrate histo‐ and immunohistology from our dynamically growing Collection 6, which currently contains >10,000 zoomable and downloadable images from n = 14 male and female embryos from early to late in gestation.

Network topology of the marmoset connectome
The brain is a complex network of interconnected and interacting neuronal populations. Global efforts to understand the emergence of behavior and the effect of perturbations depend on accurate reconstruction of white matter pathways, both in humans and ...

A MOSAIC of methods: Improving ortholog detection through integration of algorithmic diversity
Ortholog detection (OD) is a critical step for comparative genomic analysis of protein-coding sequences. In this paper, we begin with a comprehensive comparison of four popular, methodologically diverse OD methods: MultiParanoid, Blat, Multiz, and OMA ...
