Objective: Researchers in public health are often interested in examining the effect of several exposures on the incidence of a recurrent event. The aim of the present study is to assess how well the common-baseline hazard models perform to estimate the ...

Background The key to optimal timing of frozen embryo transfer (FET ) is to synchronize the embryo with the receptive phase of the endometrium. Secretory transformation of the endometrium is induced by progesterone.

In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

On the statistical optimality of CO2 atmospheric inversions assimilating CO2 column retrievals [PDF]
The extending archive of the Greenhouse Gases Observing Satellite (GOSAT) measurements (now covering about 6 years) allows increasingly robust statistics to be computed, that document the performance of the corresponding retrievals of the column-average ...

Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Signaling Without Common Prior: An Experiment [PDF]
The common prior assumption is pervasive in game-theoretic models with incomplete information. This paper investigates experimentally the importance of inducing a common prior in a two-person signaling game. For a specific probability distribution of the

Sharing the Mask: TFHE Bootstrapping on Packed Messages
Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) schemes typically experience significant data expansion during encryption, leading to increased computational costs and memory demands during homomorphic evaluations compared to their plaintext counterparts.

We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Security Culture: Surveillance and Responsibilization in a Prisoner Reentry Organization
As they have become increasingly common, prisoner reentry organizations have become a topic of interest to ethnographers, particularly those focused on race crime and justice. Reentry organizations are typically understood in terms of the social services
