Multiprocessor scheduling with communication delays [PDF]

open access: yesParallel Computing, 1990
This paper adresses certain types of scheduling problems that arise when a parallel computation is to be executed on a multiprocessor. We define a model that allows for communication delays between precedence-related tasks, and propose a classification of various submodels. We also review complexity results and optimization and approximation algorithms

Distributed Optimisation With Communication Delays

open access: yesCoRR, 2020
This paper discusses distributed optimization over a directed graph. We begin with some well known algorithms which achieve consensus among agents including FROST [1], which possesses the quickest convergence to the optimum. It is a well known fact FROST has a linear convergence.

Delay performance of MISO wireless communications [PDF]

open access: yes2018 16th International Symposium on Modeling and Optimization in Mobile, Ad Hoc, and Wireless Networks (WiOpt), 2018
Ultra-reliable, low latency communications (URLLC) are currently attracting significant attention due to the emergence of mission-critical applications and device-centric communication. URLLC will entail a fundamental paradigm shift from throughput-oriented system design towards holistic designs for guaranteed and reliable end-to-end latency.

Evaluation of the Communication Delay in a Hybrid Real-Time Simulator for Weak Grids

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
Real-time Simulation (RTS) is one of the effective means via which to study device level or system level dynamics, such as power converter online testing, evaluation, and control, and power system stability analysis.

On churn and communication delays in social overlays [PDF]

open access: yes2012 IEEE 12th International Conference on Peer-to-Peer Computing (P2P), 2012
Peer-to-peer systems based on an overlay network that mirrors the social relationships among the nodes' owners are increasingly attracting interest. Yet, the churn induced by the availability of users raises the question—still unanswered—of whether these social overlays represent a viable solution.

Event-Based Impulsive Control for Heterogeneous Neural Networks with Communication Delays

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
The quasi-synchronization for a class of general heterogeneous neural networks is explored by event-based impulsive control strategy. Compared with the traditional average impulsive interval (AII) method, instead, an event-triggered mechanism (ETM) is ...

A Heuristic for a Scheduling Problem with Communication Delays [PDF]

open access: yesOperations Research, 1997
This paper addresses a scheduling problem with interprocessor communication delays: the jobs and the communication delays are of unit length. The number of processors is unbounded. The aim is to minimize the makespan. We develop a new list scheduling heuristic and we prove that its worst-case relative performance is 4/3.

Modified constrained adaptive formation control scheme for autonomous underwater vehicles under communication delays

open access: yesIET Cyber-systems and Robotics, 2019
The performance of a formation control algorithm for a group of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) may be degraded due to communication constraints between the leader and the follower AUVs.

Quantized Multi-Tracking in the Multiagent System With Sampled Position Data via Intermittent Control

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
This paper studies the multi-tracking problem of multiagent systems with second-order dynamic. A pulse-modulation intermittent control protocol is proposed with only sampled position data of each agent. To deal with the bandwidth limitation, a stochastic
