Communication networks: Message path delays
IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 1974A communication network is modeled by a weighted graph. The vertices of the graph represent stations with storage capabilities, while the edges of the graph represent communication channels (or other information processing media). Channel capacity weights are assigned to the edges of the network. The network is assumed to operate in a store-and-forward

Scheduling with Communication Delays and On-Line Disturbances
1999This paper considers the problem of scheduling tasks on multiprocessors. Two tasks linked by a precedence constraint and executed by two different processors must communicate. The resulting delay depends on the tasks and on the processor network.

Delay and Delay Jitter in Multimedia Communications
2000This paper analyses timing characteristics of data stream in multimedia applications. Contributions of delay, jitter and data loss are discussed from the point of the acceptable quality of multimedia applications. The results of some experimental measurements in video and audio applications from the literature are given.

The Delay of Communism: Stalin and Proleptic Communism
2017Building on this biblical framework, the second chapter in many ways sets the scene for the arguments that follow. It concerns the productive role of the ‘delay of communism’ in Stalin’s thought. The world’s first socialist revolution soon experienced a delay in the expected achievement of communism.
