Hypercube communication delay with wormhole routing

IEEE Transactions on Computers, 1994
Summary: We present an analytical model for the performance evaluation of hypercube computers. This analysis is aimed at modeling a deadlock-free wormhole routing scheme prevalent on second generation hypercube systems. Probability of blocking and average message delay are the two performance measures discussed here.

The Complexity of Scheduling Trees with Communication Delays

Journal of Algorithms, 1996
Summary: We consider the problem of finding a minimum-length schedule on \(m\) machines for a set of \(n\) unit-length tasks with a forest of intrees as precedence relation, and with unit interprocessor communication delays. First, we prove that this problem is NP-complete; second, we derive a linear time algorithm for the special case that \(m ...

Delayed voice communication

Acta Astronautica, 2013
Abstract We present results from simulated deep-space exploration missions that investigated voice communication with significant time delays. The simulations identified many challenges: confusion of sequence, blocked calls, wasted crew time, impaired ability to provide relevant information to the other party, losing track of which messages have ...

Relay Communication with Delay Diversity for Future Communication Systems

IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference, 2006
In this paper we consider relay communication as a way of increasing the diversity gain in fading wireless environments. The idea is to combine relay communication with delay diversity where each relay introduces a certain time delay to the signal before forwarding.

Global Consensus of Multiagent Systems With Internal Delays and Communication Delays

IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics: Systems, 2019
This paper investigates the global consensus of multiagent systems with internal delays, communication delays, and directed topology. By defining a weighted average state of agents, the considered network is decoupled into several subsystems, then the consensus of the considered systems can be guaranteed by the asymptotic stability of several low ...

Pricing Communication Services with Delay Guarantee

INFORMS Journal on Computing, 2007
Although pricing communication services has received attention, there has been little work where quality-of-service (QoS) guarantees are incorporated into ex ante pricing of communication links. In recent years, however, data networks providing services with QoS guarantees have become quite popular.

A parallel reduction algorithm with communication delay

Proceedings Second International Symposium on Parallel Architectures, Algorithms, and Networks (I-SPAN'96), 2002
Simulation is an application area for which high speed computation is critical. Massively parallel computers have appeared so that it is now possible to execute very large-scale and complicated simulation without sacrificing accuracy and simplifying problems.

Controllers for interconnected systems with communication delays

2015 54th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2015
Finite-dimensional controllers are developed for interconnected systems, where arbitrary time delays occur in the transmission loops. Various cascade or feedback interconnections are considered, with time delay terms appearing in numerator or denominator matrices of the transfer-functions of the plants to be controlled. The proposed designs achieve low-

Kalman Filter for Systems with Communication Delay

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2009
Abstract This paper deals with estimating the process state where measurements are obtained via wireless networks. Transmission between the sensor and the estimator may be subject to random delays and/or data losses. A straightforward approach to address this problem is using a time-varying Kalman filter (KF) for the plant augmented by a delay model,
