Compact Matrix Quantum Group Equivariant Neural Networks

open access: yes, 2023
We derive the existence of a new type of neural network, called a compact matrix quantum group equivariant neural network, that learns from data that has an underlying quantum symmetry.

A Lightweight Procedural Layer for Hybrid Experimental–Computational Workflows in Materials Science

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We unveil a prototype hybrid‐workflow framework that fuses automatedcomputation with hands‐on experiments. Built atop pyiron, a lightweight, parameterized layer translates procedure descriptions into executable manual steps, syncing instrument settings, human interventions, and data capture in real‐time today.

Direct Metal Deposition of Graphene–Ti28Nb35.4Zr Matrix Composites With Enhanced Mechanical, Corrosion, and Biocompatibility Properties for Bone Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Graphene nanoplatelet (0.1 wt.%) reinforcement significantly enhances the performance of β Ti‐28Nb‐35.4Zr alloy. Grain refinement, reduced water contact angle, and improved surface characteristics promote osteoblast adhesion and complete surface coverage after 7 days.

The group of characters of a pseudocompact locally compact semitopological semigroup

open access: yesApplied General Topology
We prove that each semitopological semigroup has a reflection in the class of abelian cancellative semitopological semigroups. Then we use this reflection to prove that the group of characters of a locally compact pseudocompact topological semigroup with

Topological groups with dense compactly generated subgroups

open access: yesApplied General Topology, 2002
A topological group G is: (i) compactly generated if it contains a compact subset algebraically generating G, (ii) -compact if G is a union of countably many compact subsets, (iii) 0-bounded if arbitrary neighborhood U of the identity element of G has ...

In Situ Micromechanical Study of Bimodal γ′–γ″ Precipitate Assemblies in Ni–Cr–Al–Nb Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A Ni–Cr–Al–Nb superalloy with a bimodal γ′–γ″ precipitate distribution is developed. Composite precipitate assemblies form through heterogeneous nucleation, effectively impeding dislocation motion. Micropillar compression reveals high strength at room and elevated temperatures, governed by precipitate shearing, with coupled faulting mechanisms ...

Weakly compact homomorphisms from group algebras

open access: yes, 1993
A locally compact group G G has the weakly compact homomorphism property if every weakly compact homomorphism from the group algebra L 1 ( G ) {L^1}

Molecular Dynamics Studies of Shape Memory Polymers: From Bead–Spring Models to Atomistic Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

Nondestructive Testing of Welded Composite Metal Foams

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
X‐ray computed tomography (CT) is used to evaluate welded steel–steel composite metal foam (CMF) joints of two density classes. It reports variation in postweld spatial void distribution and correlates it to weld‐induced changes, mechanical performance, and failure within welded CMF panels.

On structural aspects of finite simple groups of Lie type

open access: yes, 2011
PhDIn this PhD thesis, we consider two problems that are related to finite simple groups of Lie type. First of them is a problem mentioned in the Kourovka notebook: describe the finite simple groups in which every element is a product of two ...
