Defect Evolution and Mechanical Performance of Fused Filament Fabrication‐Manufactured 17‐4PH Stainless Steel Revealed by X‐Ray Computed Tomography

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
X‐ray computed tomography reveals how process‐induced defects evolve from green to sintered states in Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF)‐manufactured 17‐4PH stainless steel. Internal porosity, weakest cross‐sections, and fracture locations show strong correlation with tensile performance, demonstrating the potential of computed tomography (CT)‐based ...

Characterisation of Locally Compact Abelian Groups Having Spectral Synthesis

open access: yesForum of Mathematics, Sigma
In this paper we solve a long-standing problem which goes back to Laurent Schwartz’s work on mean periodic functions. Namely, we completely characterize those locally compact Abelian groups having spectral synthesis. So far a characterization theorem was

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Covering group theory for compact groups

open access: yes, 2001
We present a covering group theory (with a generalized notion of cover) for the category of compact connected topological groups. Every such group G has a universal covering epimorphism σ:Ḡ→G in this category.

Optoelectronic Synaptic Devices Using Molecular Telluride Phase‐Change Inks for Three‐Factor Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.

On the 2-compact group DI(4)

open access: yes, 2003
Besides the simple connected compact Lie groups there exists one further simple connected 2-compact group, constructed by Dwyer and Wilkerson, the group DI(4).

Receptor‐Free Identification of Toxic Gases Enabled by Hygroscopic Aqueous Salt Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Water as a gas sensor coating sounds impossible—until it stops evaporating. Here, hygroscopic salt solutions (LiCl, LiBr, H3PO4) form non‐drying aqueous films on CNT chemiresistors under ambient air. Gases partition into these liquid layers, sometimes transforming into water, and generate salt‐specific resistance fingerprints across a four‐channel ...

Regulated Ion‐Diffusion Hydrogels for Subtle and Multimodal Temperature‐Strain Sensing in Wound Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A soft, dual‐channel hydrogel patch enables simultaneous detection of wound temperature and strain by integrating ion‐diffusion‐mediated thermoelectric and resistive sensing. The conformal design maintains stable performance during motion, capturing subtle inflammatory and mechanical changes for continuous wound monitoring.

Limit theorems on the direct product of a non-compact Lie group and a compact group

open access: yes, 2005
Let us consider a triangular array of random vectors (X-j((n)) , Y-j((n))), n = 1,2,..., 1 less than or equal to j less than or equal to k(n), such that the first coordinates X-j((n)) take their values in a non-compact Lie group and the second ...
