Nonmeasurable subgroups of compact groups [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In 1985 S. Saeki and K. Stromberg published the following question: Does every infinite compact group have a subgroup which is not Haar measurable? An affirmative answer is given for all compact groups with the exception of some metric profinite groups ...

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

A Compact Dual-Band Negative Group Delay Microwave Circuit [PDF]

open access: yesRadioengineering, 2018
A compact dual-band negative group delay circuit (NGDC) is proposed. The proposed NGDC is composed of an open-circuited transmission line and two resistors connected by two transmission lines.

Induction and restriction as adjoint functors on representations of locally compact groups

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1993
In this paper the Frobenius Reciprocity Theorem for locally compact groups is looked at from a category theoretic point of view.

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Subgroups of paratopological groups and feebly compact groups

open access: yesApplied General Topology, 2014
It is shown that if all countable subgroups of a semitopological group G are precompact, then G is also precompact and that the closure of an arbitrary subgroup of G is again a subgroup.

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

The C*-Algebra Generated by Operators with Compact Support on a Locally Compact Group

open access: yes, 1993
Let G be a locally compact group and VN(G) be the von Neumann algebra generated by the left regular representation of G. Let UCB(Ĝ) denote the C*-subalgebra generated by operators in VN(G) with compact support.

Abelian torsion groups with a countably compact group topology

open access: yes, 2010
Comfort and Remus [W.W. Comfort, D. Remus, Abelian torsion groups with a pseudocompact group topology, Forum Math. 6 (3) (1994) 323–337] characterized algebraically the Abelian torsion groups that admit a pseudocompact group topology using the Ulm ...

RoundMi: A quantitative method to analyze mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoundMi is a workflow for rapid analysis of mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells. By combining adaptive preprocessing with automated segmentation and quantification, it enables accurate measurements from single focal plane images, reducing acquisition time and computational demands while remaining compatible with high‐throughput fixed and live ...
