Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Fast and Expandable ANN-Based Compact Model and Parameter Extraction for Emerging Transistors
In this paper, we present a fast and expandable artificial neural network (ANN)-based compact model and parameter extraction flow to replace the existing complicated compact model implementation and model parameter extraction (MPE) method. In addition to

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Flowing sand - a possible physical realization of Directed Percolation
A simple model for flowing sand on an inclined plane is introduced. The model is related to recent experiments by Douady and Daerr [Nature 399, 241 (1999)] and reproduces some of the experimentally observed features.

Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Compact oscillons in the signum-Gordon model
We present explicit solutions of the signum-Gordon scalar field equation which have finite energy and are periodic in time. Such oscillons have a strictly finite size.

Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Ternary CMOS Compact Model for Low Power On-Chip Memory Applications
In this work, we present a tunneling based ternary CMOS (T-CMOS) compact model for low power ternary-SRAM (T-SRAM) design using CMOS technology. By designing compact model parameters of band-to-band tunneling current $(I_{\mathrm { BTBT}})$ according ...
