LOCALLY COMPACT OBJECTS IN EXACT CATEGORIES [PDF]
We identify two categories of locally compact objects on an exact category [Formula: see text]. They correspond to the well-known constructions of the Beilinson category [Formula: see text] and the Kato category [Formula: see text]. We study their mutual relations and compare the two constructions.

Compact objects in conformal nonlinear electrodynamics
In this paper we consider a special case of vacuum nonlinear electrodynamics with a stress–energy tensor conformal to the Maxwell theory. Distinctive features of this model are the absence of a dimensional parameter for the nonlinearity description and a

COMPACT PARTITIONS ON LARGE DIMENSION TOPOLOGICAL GRAPHS
Relevance. Distributed systems containing hundreds and thousands of objects are usually built in the form of hierarchical structures. In these structures, lower-level objects are combined into subsets for connection to the corresponding centers.

Onset of superradiant instabilities in rotating spacetimes of exotic compact objects
Exotic compact objects, horizonless spacetimes with reflective properties, have intriguingly been suggested by some quantum-gravity models as alternatives to classical black-hole spacetimes.

Inspiraling compact objects with generic deformations
Self-gravitating bodies can have an arbitrarily complex shape, which implies a much richer multipolar structure than that of a black hole in General Relativity. With this motivation, we study the corrections to the dynamics of a binary system due to generic, nonaxisymmetric mass quadrupole moments to leading post-Newtonian (PN) order.

Ultra-relativistic journeys through compact astrophysical objects
It has recently been proved that, for constant density stars, there is a critical value Λ*=1 for the dimensionless density parameter Λ ≡ 4πR2ρmax of the star above which the asymptotically measured travel time Ts along a semi-circular trajectory that ...

On categorical notions of compact objects
The concept of compactness has found various categorical generalizations. In this paper the author studies two such -- seemingly unrelated -- concepts: Borel-Lebesgue-compactness, based on the concept of a closure operator, an Áhn-Wiegandt-compactness, based on the bahaviour of certain morphisms with respect to projective limits.

Wolf–Rayet–compact object binaries as progenitors of binary compact objects
Binaries with a Wolf–Rayet star and a compact object (WR–COs), either a black hole (BH) or a neutron star (NS), have been proposed as possible progenitors for the binary compact object mergers (BCOs) observed with gravitational wave (GW) detectors. In this work, we use the open source population synthesis code SEVN to investigate the role of WR–COs as ...
