At present, most of the current researches on bimetal-lined composite pipes do not consider the influence of the pipe end weld ring during the pipe making process, and the mechanical properties of the materials in the pipe making anticorrosion process ...

The impact of urban compactness on the possibility of generating energy from sustainable urban form elements applied on Elsheikh Zayed city in Egypt [PDF]
It is well known that the seven sustainable urban form design concepts revolve around the following: compactness, mixed land uses, diversity, density, sustainable transportation, passive solar design, and greening [1], they are also fundamental pillars ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Derived dualities induced by a 1-cotilting bimodule
In this paper we characterize the modules and the complexes involved in the dualities induced by a 1-cotilting bimodule in terms of a linear compactness condition. Our result generalizes the classical characterization of reflexive modules with respect to

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

Compactness of first-order fuzzy logics
One of the nice properties of the first-order logic is the compactness of satisfiability. It state that a finitely satisfiable theory is satisfiable.

Strict singularity of a Volterra-type integral operator on $H^p$ [PDF]
We prove that a Volterra-type integral operator $T_gf(z) = \int_0^z f(\zeta)g'(\zeta)d\zeta, \, z \in \mathbb D,$ defined on Hardy spaces $H^p, \, 1 \le p < \infty,$ fixes an isomorphic copy of $\ell^p,$ if the operator $T_g$ is not compact.

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...
