Best possible estimates of weak solutions of boundary value problems for quasi-linear elliptic equations in unbounded domains

open access: yesAnalele Stiintifice ale Universitatii Ovidius Constanta: Seria Matematica, 2017
We investigate the behaviour of weak solutions of boundary value problems for quasi-linear elliptic divergence second order equations in unbounded domains. We show the boundedness of weak solutions to our problem.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Synchronization of Networked Reaction-Diffusion Nonlinear Systems via Hybrid Control

open access: yesAxioms
This paper addresses the asymptotic synchronization problem for networked nonlinear reaction–diffusion systems under a novel hybrid control strategy. The hybrid controller consists of two components: impulsive control and continuous feedback control.

Comparison principles and input-to-state stability for stochastic impulsive systems with delays

open access: yesSystems Science & Control Engineering, 2021
In this paper, the input-to-state stability (ISS), the pth moment exponential ISS and the stochastic input-to-state stability issues are investigated for the stochastic impulsive systems with time delays via the comparison principle method.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Exponential stability of traveling fronts for a 2D lattice delayed differential equation with global interaction

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2013
The purpose of this paper is to study traveling wave fronts of a two-dimensional (2D) lattice delayed differential equation with global interaction. Applying the comparison principle combined with the technical weighted-energy method, we prove that ...

Intermittent Control for Synchronization-like Behavior of State-Dependent Impulsive Neural Networks via Interval–Impulse Differential Inequality

open access: yesMathematics
This paper investigates the synchronization problem for a class of master–slave neural networks with state-dependent impulses. Different from fixed-time impulsive systems, the impulsive instants considered here depend on the current states of the neural ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

A Comparison Principle for Hamilton-Jacobi equations with discontinuous Hamiltonians [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We show a comparison principle for viscosity super- and subsolutions to Hamilton- Jacobi equations with discontinuous Hamiltonians. The key point is that the Hamiltonian depends upon u and it has a special structure.

Boundary differentiability for inhomogeneous infinity Laplace equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2014
We study the boundary regularity of the solutions to inhomogeneous infinity Laplace equations. We prove that if $u\in C(\bar{\Omega})$ is a viscosity solution to $\Delta_{\infty}u:=\sum_{i,j=1}^n u_{x_i}u_{x_j}u_{x_ix_j}=f$ with $f\in C(\Omega)\cap L^
