On the initial-boundary value problem for a nonlocal parabolic equation with nonlocal boundary condition

open access: yesЖурнал Белорусского государственного университета: Математика, информатика, 2018
We consider a nonlinear nonlocal parabolic equation ut = Δu + a(x,t)ur∫Ωup(y,t)dy - b(x,t)uq for (x,t) ∈ Ω × (0,+∞) with nonlinear nonlocal boundary condition u(x,t)|∂Ω × (0,+∞) = ∫Ωk(x,y,t)ul(y,t)dy and initial data u(x,0) = u0(x), x ∈ Ω, where r, p, q,

Global stability of a predator-prey model with Beddington–DeAngelis and Tanner functional response

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2017
In this paper, we study the global stability of a predator–prey system with Beddington–DeAngelis and Tanner functional response. By using the iteration method and comparison principle, we prove the global asymptotic stability of the unique positive ...

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Comparison Principle for Stochastic Heat Equation on Torus

open access: yes
We study the comparison principle for the stochastic heat equation on torus, associated with white-in-time and colored-in-space noise. We begin with the review of foundation for stochastic integration, followed by the result of existence and regularity ...

Comparison principle for some classes of nonlinear elliptic equations

open access: yes, 2010
We prove a comparison principle for second order quasilinear elliptic operators in divergence form when a first order term appears. We deduce uniqueness results for weak solutions to Dirichlet problems when data belong to the natural dual ...

A Comparison Principle for Some Types of Elliptic Equations [PDF]

open access: yesISRN Mathematical Analysis, 2012
In this paper a comparison principle between a continuous viscosity supersolution and a continuous viscosity subsolution is presented. The operator of interest is a fully nonlinear uniformly elliptic one with a gradient term which could be noncontinuous and grow like some BMO functions, as shown in the last section.

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Principle of Designing Fin-and-Tube Heat Exchanger With Smaller Tube for Air Condition

open access: yes, 2012
The principle of designing fin-and-tube heat exchanger with smaller tubes is proposed in this study. The principle includes designing of fin configuration and designing of refrigerant circuits.

Comparison Principle and Stability of Discrete-Time Impulsive Hybrid Systems

open access: yes, 2016
This paper studies discrete-time impulsive hybrid systems. The comparison principle and uniform stability are established for discrete-time impulsive hybrid systems and this kind of systems with time delay.

Note on a role for entire functions of the classes P and P*

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1981
We use the B and B* operators of Levin on the Classes P and P* and a comparison principle to prove a Gauss-Lucas Theorem for differential operators. The connection with the determination of final sets for differential operators is then clarified.
