Explaining the Origin of Negative Poisson's Ratio in Amorphous Networks With Machine Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
This review summarizes how machine learning (ML) breaks the “vicious cycle” in designing auxetic amorphous networks. By transitioning from traditional “black‐box” optimization to an interpretable “AI‐Physics” closed‐loop paradigm, ML is shown to not only discover highly optimized structures—such as all‐convex polygon networks—but also unveil hidden ...

Positive solutions for generalized nonlinear logistic equations of superdiffusive type

open access: yes, 2011
We consider a generalized version of the p-logistic equation. Using variational methods based on the critical point theory and truncation techniques, we prove a bifurcation-type theorem for the equation. So, we show that there is a critical value lambda*>

On the representation of parallel search in theorem proving [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
This extended abstract summarizes two contributions from ongoing work on parallel search in theorem proving. First, we give a framework of definitions for parallel theorem proving, including inference system, communication operators, parallel search plan,

DeepMapper: Attention‐Based AutoEncoder for System Identification in Wound Healing and Stage Prediction

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
The authors develop a deep learning model for real‐time tracking of wound progression. The deep learning framework maps the nonlinear evolution of a time series of images to a latent space, where they learn a linear representation of the dynamics. The linear model is interpretable and suitable for applications in feedback control.

A Comparison Theorem for Spectral Sequences

open access: yesAnadolu Üniversitesi Bilim Ve Teknoloji Dergisi - B Teorik Bilimler, 2015
We give a comparison result for two first quadrant spectral sequences that are isomorphic at every point other than the bottom horizontal line and the one that is the source of the map vanishes on that line. This situation comes out naturally when comparing niveau spectral sequences related to certain homology theories and an example is given here.

Overcoming the Nyquist Limit in Molecular Hyperspectral Imaging by Reinforcement Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Explorative spectral acquisition guide automatically selects informative spectral bands to optimize downstream tasks, outperforming full‐spectrum acquisition. The selected hyperspectral data are used for tasks such as unmixing and segmentation. BandOptiNet encodes selection states and outputs optimal bands to guide spectral acquisition. Recent advances

On Heat Kernel Comparison Theorems

open access: yesJournal of Functional Analysis, 1999
The authors develop some upper estimates for heat kernels and apply the estimates to obtain Sobolev inequalities. In particular the first estimate, that generalizes various recent similar results, is about a type of manifold in a rank one symmetric space that is of irreducible type.

STURM-PICONE COMPARISON THEOREM FOR MATRIX SYSTEMS ON TIME SCALES

open access: yes, 2020
A well-known Picone identity is extended and generalized to second-order dynamic matrix equations on arbitrary time scales. A comparison theorem is obtained in the spirit of the classical Sturm-Picone comparison theorem that extends known scalar results ...

Improved comparison theorem for the nonlinear multisplitting relaxation method

open access: yes, 1996
A new comparison theorem is given for the nonlinear multisplitting relaxation method [1], and an important modification is proposed for it ...
