Carbon–Carbon Composite Membranes Derived from Small-Molecule-Compatibilized Immiscible PBI/6FDA-DAM-DABA Polymer Blends

open access: yesSeparations
The use of immiscible polymer blends in gas separations is limited due to uncontrollable phase separation. In contrast, compatibilized immiscible polymer blends can be used as precursors with controlled morphologies that allow for a unique pore ...

Electrical and Rheological Behavior of Melt‐Spun Polyamide 6 via Synergistic SWCNT/Carbon Black Networks

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, Volume 311, Issue 2, February 2026.
Hybrid SWCNT/carbon black nanofillers in melt‐spun PA6 filaments demonstrate synergistic network preservation during fiber drawing. Carbon black particles bridge gaps between aligned SWCNTs, maintaining electrical resistivity of ∼102–104 Ω·cm despite processing‐induced deformation.

Study on the Effects and Mechanisms of Different RPE/RPP Ratios on the Properties of Modified Asphalt

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 143, Issue 4, January 20, 2026.
Effects and Mechanisms of Different RPE/RPP Ratios on the Properties of Modified Asphalt. ABSTRACT Recycled polyethylene (RPE) and recycled polypropylene (RPP) are the most abundant types of plastic waste. Developing novel base asphalt modifiers (additives used to enhance the properties of asphalt) by blending RPE and RPP in different ratios is of ...

Enhancing Graphite Nanoplatelet Dispersion in PP Composites via Chemical Pretreatment for Cost‐Effective Packaging Applications

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, Volume 64, Issue 2, Page 340-349, 15 January 2026.
Polypropylene nanocomposites with untreated and pretreated graphite nanoplatelets (GnP) exhibited distinct reinforcement mechanisms. Untreated GnP enhanced stiffness and thermal stability through stacked structures, while pretreated GnP improved impact strength and flexibility at low temperatures via exfoliated morphologies.
