High Density Polyethylene/Ground Tire Rubber Composites Compatibilized by Dicumyl Peroxide

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 143, Issue 25, July 5, 2026.
ABSTRACT In this study, the thermal behavior of dicumyl peroxide (DCP) was first evaluated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), which confirmed a peak decomposition temperature around 172°C, highlighting its incompatibility with standard melt‐mixing techniques for most polyolefins. To overcome this limitation,

Effects of dynamical cure and compatibilization on the morphology and properties of the PP/epoxy blends

open access: yeseXPRESS Polymer Letters, 2007
In this paper, effects of dynamical cure and compatibilization on the morphology and properties of the PP/epoxy blends were studied. The addition of maleic anhydride-grafted polypropylene (MAH-g-PP) and dynamical cure of epoxy by dicyanamide give rise to

Developing a Heterogeneous Attenuation Model for Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic Composites in the Kilohertz Region of the Ultrasonic Spectrum

open access: yesPolymer Composites, Volume 47, Issue S2, Page S85-S95, 20 June 2026.
Acquisition, filtering and modeling by genetic programming (tree pattern) of the acoustic signal for fiber‐filled composites. ABSTRACT This study experimentally investigated the discrete phase contributions of fibers and entrapped air on the attenuation spectrum of a fiber‐filled thermoplastic composite and derives a mathematical expression for sound ...

Demotivating Semi-Compatibilism

open access: yesIdeas y Valores, 2009
In this paper, I explore some of the motivations behind John Martin Fischer's semi-compatibilism. Particularly, I look at three reasons Fischer gives for preferring semi-compatibilism to libertarianism. I argue that the first two of these motivations are in tension with each other: the more one is moved by the first motivation, the less one can appeal ...

Effects of Polyamide‐6 Bulk Plasma Treatment on Morphology, Crystallinity and Mechanical Properties of Microfibrillar Composites

open access: yesPolymer Composites, Volume 47, Issue S2, Page S261-S274, 20 June 2026.
Microfibrillar composite containing highly oriented, plasma‐treated PA6 microfibrils embedded within the polymer matrix. ABSTRACT Plasma treatment is often used to alter chemical surface characteristics of fibers or polymers, improving dispersion of components and interfacial adhesion between incompatible constituents in composites.
