Adaptive harmonic blocking compensator
Properties of a compensator with adaptive balancing and harmonic blocking features for correcting the power factor of the load, balancing an unbalanced load, and reducing the waveform distortion caused by harmonic generating loads are presented in the ...

Minireview: Sex Differences in Adult and Developing Brains: Compensation, Compensation, Compensation [PDF]
AbstractDespite decades of research, we do not know the functional significance of most sex differences in the brain. We are heavily invested in the idea that sex differences in brain structure cause sex differences in behavior. We rarely consider the possibility that sex differences in brain structure may also prevent sex differences in overt ...

EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Commonalities in compensation [PDF]
AbstractThe sex chromosomes of many species differ in dosage but the total gene expression output is similar, a phenomenon referred to as dosage compensation. Previously, diverse mechanisms were postulated to account for compensation in distantly related taxa.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Embedding FDI in launcher attitude controllers [PDF]
It looks interesting the idea of obtaining more than a controller after designing a control system. In fact, given some conditions, it is possible to rearrange the controller states, revealing an observer structure, without changing the original system ...

The Empirical Analysis, Mathematical Modeling, and Advanced Control Strategies for Buck Converter
The DC-DC converters are essential in power electronics as they maintain a stable output voltage even when there are changes in input voltage and load current. This study introduces an advanced Proportional-Derivative (PD) compensator for buck converters.
