Atomic shell closure and electronic shell closure are generally considered to be competing effects in stabilizing magic-sized metal nanoclusters. Here, the authors show, by co-crystallizing two differently-sized clusters, that both mechanisms can work ...

Multivariable Scaling for the Anomalous Hall Effect
We derive a general scaling relation for the anomalous Hall effect in ferromagnetic metals involving multiple competing scattering mechanisms, described by a quadratic hypersurface in the space spanned by the partial resistivities.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

BCS vs Overhauser pairing in dense (2+1)d QCD [PDF]
We compare the BCS and Overhauser effect as competing mechanisms for the destabilization of the quark Fermi surface at asymptotically large chemical potential, for the special case of 2 space and 1 time dimension. We use the framework of perturbative one-

Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

Intrinsic motivation mechanisms for competence acquisition [PDF]
In the computational literature intrinsic motivations have been connected to the possibility of developing more autonomous and versatile agents. Despite the growing theoretical understanding of the distinction between functions and mechanisms of intrinsic motivations, the implications of the distinction have not been exploited in specific models.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Strong evidence for maintenance of gradient representations during language processing
To what degree listeners can maintain gradient subcategorical information about speech input in memory over time has been a matter of considerable debate. The literature has largely lacked formal computational models of potential mechanisms against which
