A GRASP model in network design for two-stage supply chain [PDF]

open access: yesManagement Science Letters, 2011
We consider a capacitated facility location problem (CFLP) which contains a production facility and distribution centers (DCs) supplying retailers' demand.

A human learning optimization algorithm with competitive and cooperative learning

open access: yesComplex & Intelligent Systems, 2022
Human learning optimization (HLO) is a simple yet powerful metaheuristic developed based on a simplified human learning model. Competition and cooperation, as two basic modes of social cognition, can motivate individuals to learn more efficiently and ...

Regional competition for the location of new facilities [PDF]

open access: yesThe Annals of Regional Science, 2002
A model of interregional competition for the location of new facilities is analyzed as a differential game. Two regions try to enhance their attraction by making concessions to a location decision maker in order to raise the probability that a new facility will be located in a specific region.

A Location Routing Problem with Time Windows Consideration: A Metaheuristics Approach

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
A substantial distribution system is achievable to attain through the simultaneous design of the location facility and route generation. This problem is generally called a location routing problem (LRP), where both strategic decision and operational ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Efficiency of a multi-objective imperialist competitive algorithm: A bi-objective location-routing-inventory problem with probabilistic routes [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Artificial Intelligence and Data Mining, 2014
An integrated model considers all parameters and elements of different deficiencies in one problem. This paper presents a new integrated model of a supply chain that simultaneously considers facility location, vehicle routing and inventory control ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Solving the competitive facility location problem considering the reactions of competitor with a hybrid algorithm including Tabu Search and exact method

open access: yesJournal of Industrial Engineering International, 2017
In this paper, a leader–follower competitive facility location problem considering the reactions of the competitors is studied. A model for locating new facilities and determining levels of quality for the facilities of the leader firm is proposed ...
