Chemoresistome mapping in individual breast cancer patients unravels diversity in dynamic transcriptional adaptation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study used longitudinal transcriptomics and gene‐pattern classification to uncover patient‐specific mechanisms of chemotherapy resistance in breast cancer. Findings reveal preexisting drug‐tolerant states in primary tumors and diverse gene rewiring patterns across patients, converging on a few dysregulated functional modules. Despite receiving the

De Novo Atypical Haemolytic Uremic Syndrome after Kidney Transplantation

open access: yesCase Reports in Nephrology, 2018
De novo thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA) can occur after kidney transplantation. An abnormality of the alternative pathway of complement must be suspected and searched for, even in presence of a secondary cause. We report the case of a 23-year-old female

Interrelationship between Porphyromonas gingivalis and complement C3 and factor B Levels in chronic periodontitis individuals

open access: yesDentistry and Medical Research, 2019
Background: To evaluate the effect of nonsurgical periodontal therapy on gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) and serum levels of complement C3 and factor B and their correlation with Porphyromonas gingivalis levels in chronic periodontitis (CP) individuals ...

Investigations of hadron structure on the lattice [PDF]

open access: yesPoS LATTICE2008:007,2008, 2008
Lattice simulations of hadronic structure are now reaching a level where they are able to not only complement, but also provide guidance to current and forthcoming experimental programmes at, e.g. Jefferson Lab, COMPASS/CERN and FAIR/GSI. In this talk I review the progress that has been made in this exciting area in the past year and discuss the ...

Tonic signaling of the B‐cell antigen‐specific receptor is a common functional hallmark in chronic lymphocytic leukemia cell phosphoproteomes at early disease stages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
B‐cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B‐CLL) and monoclonal B‐cell lymphocytosis (MBL) show altered proteomes and phosphoproteomes, analyzed using mass spectrometry, protein microarrays, and western blotting. Identifying 2970 proteins and 316 phosphoproteins, including 55 novel phosphopeptides, we reveal BCR and NF‐kβ/STAT3 signaling in disease ...

Ubiquitination of transcription factors in cancer: unveiling therapeutic potential

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In cancer, dysregulated ubiquitination of transcription factors contributes to the uncontrolled growth and survival characteristics of tumors. Tumor suppressors are degraded by aberrant ubiquitination, or oncogenic transcription factors gain stability through ubiquitination, thereby promoting tumorigenesis.

Lattice Complements and the Subadditivity of Syzygies of Simplicial Forests [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
We prove the subadditivity property for the maximal degrees of the syzygies of facet ideals simplicial forests. For such an ideal $I$, if the $i$-th Betti number is nonzero and $i=a+b$, we show that there are monomials in the lcm lattice of $I$ that are complements in part of the lattice, each supporting a nonvanishing $a$-th and $b$-th Betti numbers ...
