Evaluation of 12 Commercial Tests and the Complement Fixation Test for Mycoplasma pneumoniae-Specific Immunoglobulin G (IgG) and IgM Antibodies, with PCR Used as the “Gold Standard”

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Microbiology, 2005
Serology and nucleic acid amplification are the main diagnostic tools for the diagnosis of Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection. Since no reference standard is generally accepted, serologic assays for M. pneumoniae have not been evaluated on a broad scale. In

Chlamydia species in free-living Cattle Egret (Bubulcus ibis) and Hoopoe (Upupa epops) in Egypt

open access: yesInternational Journal of Veterinary Science and Medicine, 2014
Little information is available on the presence of chlamydia infection in wildlife. This study was conducted to assess the occurrence of chlamydiae in asymptomatic birds from two species of wild birds (Cattle Egret and Hoopoe) in Egypt.

Integrating Human Gaze into Attention for Egocentric Activity Recognition [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
It is well known that human gaze carries significant information about visual attention. However, there are three main difficulties in incorporating the gaze data in an attention mechanism of deep neural networks: 1) the gaze fixation points are likely to have measurement errors due to blinking and rapid eye movements; 2) it is unclear when and how ...

The use of EDTA in the microtitration serum agglutination test in bovine brucellosis [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
The use of EDTA in the microtitration serum agglutination test reduced the incidence of low-titre agglutinations in sera with titres < 30 international units per ml in the complement fixation test, while not affecting agglutinations in sera with titres

STUDIES ON A COMPLEMENT FIXATION TEST FOR HERPES SIMPLEX

open access: yesJournal of Bacteriology, 1955
Although the neutralization test is, in general, satisfactory for immunologic studies with a diversity of viruses, it is cumbersome and expensive. The complement fixation test, in contrast, is simple and rapid and has been successfully applied to a ...
