The complement-fixation test in filariasis
Transactions of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, 1956Abstract The results of 517 filaria complement-fixation tests are analysed. It is concluded that D. immitis antigen gives a group reaction but that the incidence of positives is not equal for all types of filariasis, being greatest in loiasis, and lowest in cases of bancroftian infection.

The Gonococcus Complement Fixation Test

Complement Fixation Test (CFT)
2018Complement fixation is a process that initiates through the binding of C1 to at least two IgGs or one IgM, triggering the classical pathway to form a membrane attack complex (MAC), and eventually the lysis of the target. This reaction is utilized in clinical testing because complement can lyse any antibody–antigen complexes.

COMPLEMENT FIXATION TESTS IN TUBERCULISIS
Journal of the American Medical Association, 1917In scanning the literature on complement fixation for tuberculosis, one is astonished at the number of substances used as antigen for this test and the great diversity of results obtained, some authors asserting only a 50 per cent. efficiency for the test, and others that the test even outclasses the Wassermann reaction, with 95 or more per cent ...
