Introducing multiple factor analysis (MFA) as a diagnostic taxonomic tool complementing principal component analysis (PCA). [PDF]
Multiple factor analysis (MFA) is introduced as a diagnostic tool for taxonomy and discussed using examples from the herpetological literature. Its methodology and output are compared and contrasted to the more often used principal component analysis ...

Testing the role of chain connectivity on the stability and structure of dihydrofolate reductase fromE. coli: Fragment complementation and circular permutation reveal stable, alternatively folded forms [PDF]
AbstractThe effects of chain cleavage and circular permutation on the structure, stability, and activity of dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) fromEscherichia coliwere investigated by various spectroscopic and biochemical methods. Cleavage of the backbone after position 86 resulted in two fragments, {1–86} and {87–159}, each of which are poorly structured ...

A note on self-complementary hypergraphs [PDF]
In the paper we describe all self-complementary hypergraphs. It turns out that such hypergraphs exist if and only if the number of vertices of the hypergraph is of the form \(n=2^k\). This answers a conjecture posed by A.

Self-complementary hypergraphs [PDF]
In this thesis, we survey the current research into self-complementary hypergraphs, and present several new results. We characterize the cycle type of the permutations on n elements with order equal to a power of 2 which are k-complementing.

On permutably complemented subalgebras of finite dimensional Lie algebras [PDF]
Summary: Let \(L\) be a finite-dimensional Lie algebra. We say a subalgebra \(H\) of \(L\) is permutably complemented in \(L\) if there is a subalgebra \(K\) of \(L\) such that \(L=H+K\) and \(H\cap K=0\). Also, if every subalgebra of \(L\) is permutably complemented in \(L\), then \(L\) is called completely factorisable.

Embedding digraphs of small size
Let D=(V,A) be a digraph without loops and multiple arcs of order n ⩾ 2. We say that D is embeddable if there is a permutation φ : V → V (called complementing permutation) such that (φ(x), φ(y)) ∉ A for every arc (x, y) ϵ A.

Cyclically t-complementary uniform hypergraphs
A cyclically t-complementary k-hypergraph is a k-uniform hypergraph with vertex set V and edge set E for which there exists a permutation θ∈Sym(V) such that the sets E,Eθ,Eθ2,…,Eθt−1 partition the set of all k-subsets of V. Such a permutation θ is called

ABSTRACT Background Central nervous system (CNS) involvement in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is assessed by cell counting and cytomorphology from cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and is used for treatment stratification worldwide. The ratio of “CNS2” patients in clinical trials ranges from 3% to 40%, with unclear prognostic significance ...

ABSTRACT Immune effector cell‐associated hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis‐like syndrome (IEC‐HS) is a life‐threatening hyperinflammatory toxicity distinct from cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and neurotoxicity following chimeric antigen receptor T‐cell (CAR‐T) therapy. ABSTRACT Background Therapeutic apheresis (TA) is an established treatment modality for hematologic, neurologic, and immunologic disorders, yet access remains severely limited in sub‐Saharan Africa. Donor apheresis, including platelet apheresis collection from healthy donors, represents an important complementary modality supporting blood product ...
