Bioinspired Adaptive Surfaces for Intelligent Liquid Manipulation: Progressing From Passive and Active to Hybrid Strategies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines passive, active, and hybrid liquid manipulation strategies, highlighting hybrid approaches as an emerging route to reconcile energy efficiency with adaptive control. By actively reconstructing passive surfaces to store programmable interfacial energy, hybrid systems enable flexible yet low‐power liquid transport, with perspectives ...

The polarized three-loop anomalous dimensions from on-shell massive operator matrix elements

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2019
We calculate all contributions ∝TF to the polarized three–loop anomalous dimensions in the M–scheme using massive operator matrix elements and compare to results in the literature. This includes the complete anomalous dimensions γqq(2),PS and γqg(2).

From Displacement to Angle: Diamond-Based 3D Rotation Sensing for High-Precision Cellular Force Measurement. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh)
Cellular forces are traditionally inferred from displacement measurements, which lack rotational information and are constrained by linear model assumptions. This work replaces displacement with rotational angle for the fundamental mechanical readout.

Resolving Nanoscale Heterogeneities in Lead Halide Perovskites Through Low‐Dose Concurrent 4D‐STEM‐EDX Mapping

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Mixed‐cation lead mixed‐halide perovskites suffer from structural instabilities linked to nanoscale heterogeneity. To probe this non‐destructively, a low‐dose, concurrent 4D‐STEM and EDX methodology has been developed. Examining a (FA0.83Cs0.17)Pb(I0.8Br0.2)3 film revealed a complex mosaic of coexisting crystal structures. Crucially, local deficiencies

Nano‐Architected Metallic Metamaterial With Enhanced Fatigue Resistance via Dislocation Starvation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoscale Ni single crystals exhibit remarkable fatigue resistance over an order of magnitude higher than that of bulk single crystals through dislocation starvation. By translating this mechanism into geometric nano‐architecture, nano‐architected Ni single‐crystal metamaterials achieve about twice the fatigue resistance of the bulk, despite their ...

Sharp Generalized Seiffert Mean Bounds for Toader Mean

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2011
For p∈[0,1], the generalized Seiffert mean of two positive numbers a and b is defined by Sp(a,b)=p(a-b)/arctan[2p(a-b)/(a+b ...

Data‐Driven Materials Science for Energy‐Sustainable Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Data‐driven approaches powered by artificial intelligence are transforming materials discovery for energy sustainability. This review examines how auto‐generated high‐quality materials databases and domain‐specific language models accelerate research in photovoltaics, thermoelectrics, batteries and magnetic materials. Applications involve extraction of

Elliptic Biorthogonal Polynomials Connected with Hermite's Continued Fraction

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2007
We study a family of the Laurent biorthogonal polynomials arising from the Hermite continued fraction for a ratio of two complete elliptic integrals. Recurrence coefficients, explicit expression and the weight function for these polynomials are obtained.

Refinements, Generalizations, and Applications of Jordan's Inequality and Related Problems

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2009
This is a survey and expository article. Some new developments on refinements, generalizations, and applications of Jordan's inequality and related problems, including some results about Wilker-Anglesio's inequality, some estimates for three kinds of ...
