Moiré‐Induced Symmetry Breaking of Charge Order in van der Waals Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A uniaxial moiré potential in misfit (MS)1+δTaS2 heterostructures selectively reshape charge order: the embedded 1H‐TaS2 layer hosts an incommensurate charge‐density wave, fragmented into nanometer domains and stripped of threefold symmetry. Superconductivity, however, remains uniform and fully gapped, revealing heterosymmetry stacking as a selective ...

Introducing the Leal Method for the Approximation of Integrals with Asymptotic Behaviour: Special Functions

open access: yesAppliedMath
This work presents the Leal method for the approximation of integrals without known exact solutions, capable of multi-expanding simultaneously at different points.

Closed Form Expressions of Self and Mutual Inductance of Disk Coils and the Optimal Value of Self-Inductance

open access: yesZhongguo dianli, 2019
The disk coils are the core element of energy coupling of the wireless power transmission system blooming in recent years. By introducing generalized hypergeometric functions pFq, the integral expression of self-inductance of disk coils is transformed ...

Moiré Phase Mapping in Twisted Bilayer Liquid Crystals with Reconfigurable Light Polarization States

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Twisted bilayer liquid crystals are developed by vertical stacking assembly of two liquid crystals having designer domains and optical properties. These moiré‐symmetry, twisted liquid crystals demonstrate reconfigurable polarization states, moiré patterns and phases controlled by twist angles, providing a route to design active optical devices for ...

Sustainable Plant‐Based Water Repellent Coatings Using Hydrophobic Pine and Palm Pollen

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A novel formulation strategy for creating superhydrophobic coatings using plant‐derived waxes and chemically treated pine and palm pollen. By employing acid modification, the hydrophobicity of the pollen surface is enhanced, resulting in water contact angles exceeding 150°.

Optimal Bounds for Gaussian Arithmetic-Geometric Mean with Applications to Complete Elliptic Integral

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2016
We present the best possible parameters α1,β1,α2,β2∈R and α3,β3∈(1/2,1) such that the double inequalities Qα1(a,b)A1-α1(a,b)

A U‐shaped Microfluidic Platform for Culturing Vascularized Colorectal Cancer Spheroids Reveals Tumor–Endothelial Crosstalk and Invasion‐Associated Remodeling

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A closed U‐shaped microfluidic platform symmetrically embeds a single, size‐controlled HT29 colorectal cancer spheroid within a GFP‐HUVEC‐laden fibrin matrix. HT29 spheroids are associated with hyper‐branched endothelial network remodeling, while vascularized co‐culture is accompanied by anisotropic protrusive growth and EMT‐like marker changes in the ...

Two‐Dimensional Isotropic Spatial Differentiation Through Complete Polarization Control

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This work enables two‐dimensional isotropic spatial differentiation at planar interfaces over a wide range of incident angles by extending the output polarization from linear to elliptical. The choice of incident angle can be used to balance broader spectral response at low angles and higher edge‐detection efficiency at larger angles.

From Holonomy of the Ising Model Form Factors to n-Fold Integrals and the Theory of Elliptic Curves

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2007
We recall the form factors $f^(j)_{N,N}$ corresponding to the $lambda$-extension $C(N,N; lambda)$ of the two-point diagonal correlation function of the Ising model on the square lattice and their associated linear differential equations which exhibit ...

The complete ellipsoidal shell-model in EEG imaging

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2006
This work provides the solution of the direct Electroencephalography (EEG) problem for the complete ellipsoidal shell-model of the human head. The model involves four confocal ellipsoids that represent the successive interfaces between the brain tissue ...
