Sulle sezioni iperpiane di una varietà proiettiva

open access: yesLe Matematiche, 1987
A result about curves in P3 obtained by R. Strano is generalized to arbitrary subvarieties of Pn. A curve in P3 of degree >4 not contained in a quadric surface is a complete intersection if its generic hyperplane section is a complete intersection: this ...

Triple Junctions as Dislocation‐Like Defects: The Role of Grain Boundary Crystallography Revealed by Experiment and Atomistic Simulation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Grain boundary triple junctions are an essential ingredient of the microstructure of polycrystalline materials. In this study, a triple junction is observed using atomic‐resolution scanning transmission electron microscopy and characterized. Computer simulations reveal that the junction has a dislocation character that is determined by the joining ...

Median U-Turn Intersection Critical Parameter Research and Operational Performance Evaluation

open access: yesApplied Sciences
As one of the unconventional intersection designs, the median U-turn (MUT) intersection design has been confirmed to have the potential to improve intersection efficiency and produce lower vehicle delays, and it has been widely applied to many urban ...

Design and Analysis of Compression–Torsion Coupling Metamaterials Using the Golden Section Method

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A novel compression–torsion metamaterial is engineered using inclined rods and symmetry breaking. To optimize its torsional performance, the golden section method is employed. The mechanical response of the metamaterial is validated through both numerical analysis and experimental validation.

Integration of Low‐Voltage Nanoscale MoS2 Memristors on CMOS Microchips

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the first monolithic integration of nanoscale MoS2‐based memristors into the back‐end‐of‐line of foundry‐fabricated CMOS microchips in a one‐transistor‐one‐resistor (1T1R) architecture. The MoS2‐based 1T1R cells exhibit forming‐free, nonvolatile resistive switching with ultra‐low operating voltages, low cycle‐to‐cycle variability ...

Tangent bundle of a complete intersection

open access: yes, 2010
Let X be a Fano variety of Picard number one defined over an algebraically closed field. We give conditions under which the tangent bundle of a complete intersection on X is stable or strongly ...

Resolving the Cu(bdc) Conundrum: Identifying Non‐Porous Packing of Prototypical Coordination‐Network Thin Films Combining Advanced Diffraction Techniques and Computational Modelling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Solution‐processed Cu(bdc) forms prototypical MOF thin films for which a multitude of not fully satisfactory structural models have been suggested. Combining rotating grazing‐incidence diffraction and X‐ray reflectivity on two complementary samples with density‐functional theory, we first discard the previously suggested models and then identify a non ...

The Derived Category of a Locally Complete Intersection Ring

open access: yes, 2019
Let R be a commutative noetherian ring. A well-known theorem in commutative algebra states that R is regular if and only if every complex with finitely generated homology is a perfect complex.

Glissile Interphase Boundaries Enable Collective Phase Switching in Epitaxial Polar Oxides

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A triple point is identified in the phase diagram of low‐symmetry epitaxial BiFeO3 thin film along with an extended regime of phase competition associated with a flattened energy landscape. The electromechanical response is shown to be governed by correlated interphase‐boundary motion, including scale‐free avalanche dynamics characteristic of systems ...

A result on the set-theoretic complete intersection problem

open access: yes, 1982
This article establishes a certain arithmetical criterion for set-theoretic complete intersection for irreducible analytic space curves.
